Started my internship at the Lilly Library the other day and have been working with some really gorgeous mid-1700s items from Latin America! This book (1744 from Mexico) must be delicious, as it has quite a bit of worming, and it had several loose pages/notes added to the larger book.
“Dear Gordon …
Well, and then again, well. I am wishing you a happy Valentine’s Day, and no doubt shall continue to do so for quite some time.”
--Sylvia Plath, from a letter to Gordon Lameyer, written “Wednesday morning, January 26, 1955”; The Letters of Sylvia Plath Volume I: 1940–1956, 2017
