Lily was on babysitting duty this evening, with her half brother Cypress. He’s going very pale with his winter fluff coming in but his legs are still such a dark shade of orange. It’s like he’s wearing stockings.
Next years summer coat is going to be SO interesting to see
lilly pilly project - photos are of seedlings grown in reused tetrapaks, some of them out planted, the parent tree during fruiting season, and the fruit (used for tea) and seeds the bb plants came from 🌱 💕

Syzygium smithii is a summer-flowering, winter-fruiting evergreen tree, native to Australia and belonging to the myrtle family Myrtaceae. It shares the common name "lilly pilly" with several other plants. It is planted as shrubs or hedgerows, and features: rough, woody bark; cream and green smooth, waxy leaves; flushes of pink new growth; and white to maroon edible berries. Unpruned, it will grow about 3–5 m (9.8–16.4 ft) tall in the garden.

Cascade is a beautiful mid sized shrub with mid-sized glossy apple green leaves with attractive red and pink new growth. Spectacular pink powder-puff flowers in summer are followed by pinkish fruits that are edible and attract birds.
29 March 2025 ~ New Moon, New Dawn
A new moon. A new beginning. The changes on which I've been working hard will finally realised in this Lunar cycle.
If you do something nice for yourself under this Super New Moon, I hope the positive energy from that will continue to grow as she waxes over the coming nights.
Tonight, I'm wandering down to collect Lillipillies. The trees have finished blossoming, and have grown little cherry-apples that are ready for harvesting. (It's not as magical as it sounds. It just grows over someone's fence into a waterway area. But it does look beautiful.) Bye for now!
