Hey guys! It’s been a while since I’ve done any blurbs or oneshots! If you have any requests don’t be afraid to ask! Here’s a Lilo one to start off!
Louis wasn't the biggest fan of airplanes. He didn't see the appeal of sitting extremely close to a stranger on a giant flying machine that could crash at any moment. Sometimes he didn't have a choice on whether he wanted to be on one or not though and this was one of those times. He looked out of his window at the airport, his headphones drowning out the sound of the other passengers and flooding his ears with The Killers - Mr. Brightside. He was going on a trip for work and no matter how much he really didn't want to go his boss insisted and so here he was. This was his fourth time going to America this year - it was only June. Throughout his many plane rides he had been sat next to people with crying babies, talkative adults and of course people that didn't know what personal space was. This time was different though. The plane was due to take flight at any minute and there still wasn't anyone sitting next to him. A true miracle that he was extremely thankful for. At least there was something that he could be happy about.
He looked over at the aisle way and to his dismay a man (an attractive man if Louis had ever seen one) slid past the woman in the aisle seat and plopped down next to Louis. The short boy's smile dropped but it wasn't the worst person he had ever been seated next to. This guy had nice biceps, a cute smile and to top it all off he smelt of expensive cologne. The man put his headphones on which made Louis smile again because usually that meant there would be no distractions. Or at least that's what he had thought. 20 minutes into his incredibly long flight the man placed his arm on the arm rest, touching Louis' arm. Louis tried to push the man's arm off of the small piece of plastic but to no avail. After nearly 10 minutes of this disturbance Louis pulled his headphones off, tapping the guy on the arm annoyed.
"Excuse me.", Louis groaned.
The man gave Louis a skeptical look, taking off his headphones as well, "Can I help you?"
"Yeah. You can help me by staying in your own space. I was in my seat first. My arm was on my arm rest. If you wanted it so badly then you should've gotten here early instead of almost missing the damn flight."
The two looked at each other, locking eyes for what felt like years. "I'm Liam.", the man smiled, holding out his hand for Louis to shake.
Louis was astounded. Was this guy insane?
"Just stay in your own space.", Louis huffed, putting his headphones back on. A few minutes passed, Louis was drifting off to sleep until he felt it again. Skin on skin contact.
He growled, opening his eyes to see that the man, Liam, was sleeping. He looked rather peaceful, making Louis forget about how annoyed he was with the touching of their arms. He ignored it, settling into the chair and placing his head against the window as he himself was consumed by sleep.
3 hours later: Louis' eyes fluttered open, remembering that he was on his flight. He had slept pretty well considering he was sitting in a fairly uncomfortable seat. He quickly moved towards the window, realizing that his head had been resting on Liam's shoulder. Who would just let a stranger sleep on them?
"Good morning sunshine.", Liam smirked.
Louis scoffed, "Shut up. You could've woken me."
"Now why would I want to poke a sleeping bear?"
Louis rolled his eyes, "Yeah well listen mate. Next time something like that happens maybe wake someone up. Don't just leave them leaning on you. It's weird. Though you don't seem to have an issue with sharing personal space."
"Not when it's with someone as cute as you."
Louis blushed and quickly looked out the window so Liam couldn't see. He should'nt be blushing right now. He should be telling this guy off for being such a damn creep but there was just something about him that made him want to know him.
"See? Cute."
Louis turned to see Liam staring at him, his beautiful brown eyes gazing over into his own. Part of him wished he could run from him. Take off in the opposite direction of this guy and never turn back but there was another part of him that wanted to know everything about him. He wanted to know his favorite things and where he grew up and what he did for a living. He wanted to know his deepest secrets and his greatest fantasies.
"Look we're gonna be sitting next to each other for quite some time now so let's just be civil." Louis stuck his hand out, Liam taking it almost immediately, "I'm Louis Tomlinson. My friends call me Tommo. I hate sitting on planes for endless boring hours and I can't stand when strangers are in my business but you seem like a decent person so let's talk."
"Ok Tommo. Let's."
So for the rest of the flight Louis and Liam discussed everything from their worst fears to their wildest dreams. They talked about things that they had never talked about with anyone. And to Louis' surprise he was rather saddened when the flight attendant announced that they would be arriving at their destination soon. He couldn't believe that he didn't want this long flight to end.
The plane landed, passengers began to take hold of their carry ons as they shuffled off of the plane and into the airport. Louis and Liam did the same and Louis felt slightly empty as he walked towards the car that was waiting for him at the entrance. He handed his luggage over to the driver, watching as he placed it into the trunk of the car. As he turned around to open the door to the backseat, a smile appeared on his face. He saw Liam walking toward him, pushing through the crowd of people to make his way to the shorter boy.
"I found you.", Liam smiled.
Louis smiled back, "Here I am."
"I don't know how long you're going to be in the area but would you possibly want to go out for some tea or something?"
This time Louis didn't hide his blush, "I thought you'd never ask."
Maybe airplanes weren't so dreadful after all.
