139 on the prompt list with Lilo?
Thank you for sending me a prompt 💖💖 I’ll be honest this is probably terrible because I have never written lilo in my life, but an attempt was made. Hopefully you don’t hate it.
139. “If I win, you do dishes for a week.”
It really had started off as a joke. Liam making some passing comment about “I bet I can find a date for the party before you.” And Louis really has never been one to back off from a challenge.
“Wait what, I was joking.”
“Oh come on Payno, you scared.”
“Definitely not, just don’t know why you want to set yourself up to lose.”
“I’m not gonna lose. And when I win you’ll have to do my laundry for a month.” His mind drifted to the piles of laundry in his bedroom that had been collecting for months.
“More like burn the laundry but fine. And if I win, you do dishes for a week.” Though he wasn’t even sure Louis knew how to wash a dish.
“You’re on,” Louis smirks, “just make sure to separate the colors.”
The party was a week away and Liam knew Louis was having just as much trouble finding a date as he was. He just couldn’t find someone interesting enough and he didn’t want to settle for just anyone and end up having a terrible time. Maybe he could just ask Harry, it wouldn’t be a real date but it’d be something.
But when he called Harry he already had a date. So he’s back to square one. If he really thought about it he knew the real reason he was having such a hard time. But admitting you have feelings for your best friend and roommate isn’t exactly easy. Of course things get worse when he comes home to Louis smiling like a madman and telling Liam he lost the bet.
“Oh yeah, I found the perfect date.”
“Anybody I know.” And he really was trying his hardest to keep the jealousy out his voice.
“Probably not, he’s more the artsy type.”
All Liam could do was hum as a response. He knew that really it was his own fault for agreeing to the stupid bet in the first place but he hadn’t realized how bad his crush was. He was pulled from his pity party by Louis literally knocking on his head.
“You alright? You seem out of it?”
“I’m fine Louis.” He hadn’t meant to snap but he didn’t feel like talking anymore.
“Jesus, I was just checking. No need to get all bitchy.” Louis might be right but Liam was still annoyed and he wasn’t helping.
“Oh right, cause you’re just a saint.”
“What the fuck is your problem.”
“Nothing.” He didn’t want to say even more that he’d regret and telling Louis that he was jealous, even though he didn’t really have the right, was something he’d definitely regret.
“Louis just drop it please.”
“No you’re gonna tell me what’s wrong and we’re gonna fix it.”
“Don’t think that’s possible,” he gulps torn between spilling his guts and just packing his things and moving out, “can’t exactly force someone to like me back.”
“Oh, you’re all pouty over an unrequited crush?”
“Well they’re stupid. Complete idiot.”
“No I’m serious, I mean even besides the fact that you’re hot, you’re the best guy I’ve ever met. Anyone who wouldn’t like you back is an idiot.”
“You really shouldn’t talk that way about yourself.” And he hadn’t meant to say that out loud at all but it was too late and Louis’ jaw had dropped.
Liam isn’t sure what to do but apologizing sounds like a solid plan.
“Louis I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to- I don’t know, have feelings but I do. But don’t worry about it, it should pass hopefully-“ but he’s interrupted by Louis grabbing his face and kissing him forcefully. It’s a short kiss, and he really didn’t even have time to kiss back.
“Liam, please shut up,” Liam squawks at that, offended, “because in case you couldn’t tell, I like you too.”
And then Louis is kissing him again. And maybe he did find a date after all.
