cheers friend! I'd love to see "sweet" for anything obikin?
Ooh, thank you! :D from a snippet for an unpublished side story set in bones of a miracle.
Happy astonishment blooms in Anakin's chest. He can't bear to be this overfilled with joy and somehow still be greedy for more. "Hmm. I don't know. That's a pretty big claim. I'm going to need proof of that."
"You're so high-maintenance," sighs Obi-Wan, but he's the one wrapping Anakin in their sheets and cuddling him into his chest, showing off that unfairly attractive strength of his. Anakin is laughing, and God damn it, he actually really needs to go to the bathroom to relieve his bladder, take a shower, and brush his teeth, not be carried out of their bedroom, bridal-style, along with half their bedding.
Not that he's complaining. Particularly when Obi-Wan drops a quick, sweet kiss on his mouth that promises a lot more after breakfast.
For the kiss prompts: "i really, really want to kiss you right now" + heavy breathing with foreheads leaning together 👀👀👀
So sorry for this being so late! I hope it fits the bill! Definitely inspired by that episode in TCW where Obi-Wan and Anakin wake up that giant cave bat and bicker the entire time...
---
They’d woken something.
Again.
One shortcut through a cave system, the bright glow of two lightsabers, and the reverberation of Anakin and Obi-Wan’s voices as they bickered about which path to take had roused something in the dark. Anakin hadn’t time to see it, but the expression that Obi-Wan reflected back on him was enough to tell Anakin that they had to move - now.
They hurried through the network - taking the left as Obi-Wan had suggested - before Anakin found a crack in the stone walls, small enough to keep the beast out but big enough to let them inside. Catching Obi-Wan’s wrist Anakin tugged him inside the smaller cave, the two tangled up in each other as the beast - whatever it was - hurried after them, its large form causing minor quakes in the stone walls above them and bits of detritus to fall from above.
Staring at the freckles across Obi-Wan’s nose, Anakin took in a shuddering breath and held. Obi-Wan’s breathing was hot and wet across Anakin’s cheeks and lips, coming out in great billowing gusts. His body was warm against Anakin’s own, tense muscles bound by thick layers of armour and dense cloth, the brush of their knees and thighs overriding all thoughts of self-preservation in Anakin’s mind even as the creature in the cave snuffed the ground nearby.
Obi-Wan had squeezed his eyes shut, a soft hiss slipping past his lips as the behemoth lumbered by, its long tail sliding across the dirt covered stones like a uncoiled snake. Without thinking, Anakin brought his hand up to cover Obi-Wan’s mouth as the creature stopped just a few feet from their narrow hiding space. Obi-Wan’s breath was hot across his palm, the bristles of his beard overwhelmingly soft, lips pressed against Anakin’s calloused skin. Anakin’s own breathing was thunderously loud in his skull and chest, and he ducked his head to press his mouth and nose against Obi-Wan’s neck.
Minutes passed, the snuffling and shifting of the creature suffocating the two as they waited. For a brief moment Anakin thought this would be it; the monster would find them, drag them out of their hiding spot, and he’d be eaten alive after having only managed to touch his lips to Obi-Wan’s neck. How fitting that he’d get this close to greatness - to finally taking what he wanted from his Master, consequences be damned - only to have it all snatched away by some great hulking creature from the depths.
But just as Anakin was about to raise his head and confess his love to Obi-Wan before throwing himself to the literal monster, the creature shifted and began moving off; one slow, heavy footstep by one slow, heavy footstep.
They remained as they were for a moment longer, Anakin’s hand over-top Obi-Wan’s mouth, his face pressed against the crook of Obi-Wan’s neck, the feel of his pulse still rapidly beating beneath Anakin’s chapped lips. Finally, Obi-Wan’s gentle touch along hips brought Anakin back to the space, and he pulled away enough where he could look at him through the gloom. Obi-Wan’s expression remained unreadable, and Anakin’s chest squeezed as the realization that he’d overstepped sunk in.
“S-sorry,” Anakin whispered. He dropped his hand from Obi-Wan’s mouth and stepped back - just enough until his back hit the wall of the cave, but not far enough where he couldn’t still feel Obi-Wan’s body through the thickets of darkness.
Obi-Wan’s eyes were like jewels in the dark, piercing and luring, and Anakin found himself moving back in. They were still breathing heavily, great steady mouthfuls of air captured before they rushed out across each others’ features. Another moment passed before Anakin let out a shaky sigh that rattled around in the space.
He felt Obi-Wan’s hand along his jaw then, sliding along the bone and the softness of his cheeks before reaching up to the base of his skull. Their foreheads brushed together, Obi-Wan holding on to the back of Anakin’s neck, steadying and comforting. Anakin closed his eyes and swallowed his fear.
They were alright. They were alright and whole and safe, and not in the maws of some ravenous beast that they’d accidentally woken up.
“Anakin…”
Obi-Wan’s voice was hesitant in the dark, a stark contrast to his usual tone.
“Yes, Master?”
The hand on the back of his neck slid back along to his jaw, calloused fingertips rubbing pleasantly across his skin. Anakin held back his whimper and instead pressed in closer, their noses nuzzling. For a moment there was only the sound of their breathing, steadying but still stilted and hitched, before Obi-Wan spoke again.
“I really, really want to kiss you right now.”
Anakin’s chest squeezed, his heart thundering against his breastbone as fear and excitement and disbelief swirled around, catching and tearing and soothing all in one fell swoop. Since the Clone Wars began Anakin had felt like he was tossed from one terrifying moment into another, adrenaline and pure instinct the only things he could rely on.
That, and Obi-Wan.
Anakin let out a laugh, quick and frantic, but before Obi-Wan could pull away, make some distance - show his shame - Anakin closed the gap with an unsteady and desperate embrace.
Since it’s Obiklin Big Bang (@obikinbigbang) season, and I had the absolute pleasure of beta'ing three AMAZING fics, I figured that I would use this space to highlight the wonderful authors and artists who put so much time and effort into their creations over the last few months.

and this is my another little @obikinbb piece for one incredible fic Heartlines by LilRedGhost!!!
"Taking Care" for the wip title game pretty please 🥺
Hello friend, and thank you 🥰 I post the first chapter of that fic when I was sick so it's very funny to look back on and try to piece together where I was going from the very cryptic notes I left for myself. I think I'm figuring it out and I also think that I cut it at a weird point because chapter 2 is going to be way shorter. I used to insist on similar chapter lengths but I'm not going to draw out my smut to 9k words for the sake of symmetry.
Anyway here is the beginning of chapter 2! I might prioritize finishing this one actually because spending too long without completing a fic makes me anxious. I need the little green ao3 checkmark or else I might explode!
Chapter 2
The tension churns like a storm as the bouncer drags the offender away by the elbow. Obi-Wan’s heart is still hammering and his hands itch to go after them, to make that man regret striking Anakin, or regret ever having looked at him.
“Are you all right?” Obi-Wan asks, nudging Anakin with a tendril of concern.
He can’t see Anakin’s ass anymore, the slap on his cheek. Anakin’s had worse, of course, and in very recent memory. Obi-Wan still hears the sound of Dooku’s lightsaber and Anakin’s pained breathing when he closes his eyes, still wrestles with his own weakness and his failure to protect the boy.
This latest assault is obviously nothing compared to the loss of his arm but it seems more violating, somehow. Dooku is a traitor to the order, he recently captured Obi-Wan and Anakin both up in an arena and left them to be eaten alive.
But, Obi-Wan thinks, as his eyes catch on the strip of bare thigh above Anakin’s stockings, at least he let Anakin keep his clothes on.
“I’m sorry,” Obi-Wan says, and he isn’t sure if he’s apologizing for the ogling or for something else. “I should have stepped in sooner. You never should have been put in this position—"
Anakin takes a step closer and Obi-Wan’s words catch in his throat, strangled by the scent of Anakin’s bare skin.
“Not here,” Anakin says, his voice low and his jaw set. “Not in public.”
This is actually a good argument. If this horrible, seedy club is somehow tied up in whatever vague crimes the council deemed important enough to risk the life and safety and purity of Obi-Wan’s Padawan, they should not be discussing it in front of total strangers.
Total strangers who are still leaking their desire into the Force, still eyeing Anakin like he’s a cut of meat.
Obi-Wan opens his mouth to agree, to suggest that they should have this conversation in a speeder on its way back to the Temple more or less immediately, when Anakin’s flesh hand darts up to grab Obi-Wan by the back of his collar like he’s an unruly loth-kitten and tugs him forward.
The crowd must see something in Anakin’s expression that Obi-Wan can’t, scruffed and restrained as he is. He thinks he should twist free, should scold his Padawan for whatever it is he thinks he’s doing and wherever he thinks he’s leading them.
But then the pulse of the music fades and Anakin jerks Obi-Wan’s tunic hard enough to cut into his collarbone and manhandles him down a dimly lit corridor. Now Obi-Wan can hear the thump of Anakin’s boots on the tiles and the thundering of his heart as Anakin leads him somehow deeper into the grimy depths of the club.
They turn a corner and Obi-Wan gets an impression of identical doors and cheap wallpaper before Anakin’s fingers tap out a code on a worn panel and he unceremoniously shoves Obi-Wan through the nearest door which clicks shut behind them with a click.
For a moment all Obi-Wan knows is the darkness of wherever they are (a closet? It feels bigger than that in the Force, his senses reaching out and tasting a lingering feeling, nearly overwhelmed by Anakin’s supernova of a presence—) but then the lights flicker on and Obi-Wan’s eyes adjust to the muted pinkish tones and pick out the shape of a fairly ordinary little room that smells like perfume and alcohol and dust.
And looks very much like a—
“What the fuck was that?”
Obi-Wan snaps his attention back to Anakin's face, which is worryingly close and unfairly pretty even when livid. And his boy is angry, that much is clear. It’s apparent in the tension of his long, collared throat, the twitch in his strong jaw and the crudeness of his word choice even by Anakin’s somewhat lax standards.
“Language,” Obi-Wan admonishes, and Anakin rolls his eyes. “Anakin, where are we? Why aren’t we leaving?”
“Leaving? Leaving? Why would we leave?” Anakin scoffs and jabs Obi-Wan in the chest with a gloved finger. “You, maybe.”
Yes, Obi-Wan does want to leave. He wants to leave this horrible club and this stuffy little room and wrap Anakin in as many blankets as he can find and cart him home to where he’s safe and Obi-Wan can keep him that way, far from the reach of handsy, violent drunks who want nothing more than to ruin Anakin and keep him for themselves. The council clearly lost their collective minds when they conceived of this plan, when decided to abandon Obi-Wan’s Padawan, his Padawan to the baser desires of the Coruscant underworld.
“Why would I leave without you? Surely you can see that this mission is ridiculous, that the council never should—” Obi-Wan pauses, and he cranes his head around Anakin’s shoulder. “Why does this room have a bed in it?”
For the ask game: 5 for "knows best", 30, and 40 please!
Hello friend!! 💙 Thank you! (ask game)
5. What do you wish someone would ask you about knows best? Answer it now!
Perhaps you'd like to hear what Obi-Wan and Anakin are dressed like in their first undercover scene! I can tell you that Obi-Wan is dressed like he's in Birds of Prey except he keeps his beard. I know shaving would probably help him not be recognized but consider this: he's very handsome with his beard.
Anakin I think is dressed a bit like this photo. He looks like the spoiled son/boyfriend of a crime boss to me!
30. Have you ever written something that was out of your comfort zone? If so, what was it, and how did it affect your approach to writing fic thereafter?
I think my merman fic Till Human Voices Wake Us and then my zine fic Guiding Light! I know I've gone about this (somewhat ironically) but I really want to be one of those writers who can be very effective in very few words and the limit, self-imposed or otherwise, forced me to be more thoughtful and sparing with my language. Even if my fics go on and on I think it helps me keep scenes a little tighter. I've even gotten better at cutting out useless filler words!
40. Do you tend to reread fics or are you a one-and-done kind of person?
Oh absolutely. There are a bunch of fics that are basically comfort fics for me and I revisit them constantly. My bookmarks are a good place to start if you're curious but they're also woefully behind so let me update those. I think some of my favourite fics get better with each reread!
Hi! Would love to know about 30, 58 and 71 for the fic writer ask!!
Hiya! Thank you! For this ask game~
30. Do you share rough drafts or do you wait until it’s all polished?
I share bits and pieces of my rough drafts to friends as I'm writing - stuff I'm super keen on, or things I think need a little help but I'm incapable of figuring it out myself. But for the most part I wait until I'm satisfied with the story~
58. What part of the writing process do you enjoy the most? (Brainstorming, outlining, writing, editing, etc)
Finishing.
I like almost all the parts save for editing! I'm dyslexic, so editing is just a reminder of like, all my faults 🤦♀️ But if I had to choose just one, I think the actual writing is my favourite part. To see all the hard work of brainstorming, researching, and outlining finally come together in a cohesive story is the best feeling.
71. When it comes to more complicated narratives, how do you keep track of outlines, characters, development, timeline, ect.?
