Marlowe looks at Lilly and softly pats their shoulder for some comfort. He had a feeling she wanted to be alone but he couldn't help but feel she needed some comfort. "Pardon my sudden appearance young miss. I never see much of anyone out here. But what ails you to be upset?" He looked to have a mix of concern and curiosity on his face.
It was starting to get ridiculous how much attention she had been getting--why would she take the time to hide away in some random forest only to continuously keep getting bothered? And so Lily tartly answered, wiping away some tears with the ball of her palm, “the fact that people keep bothering me and asking me what’s wrong is what ‘ails’ me! I’m out here to be alone and I can’t even get that!”
