Time Marches On

Somehow, Lily had broken it the time turner was in pieces in her hands. At nineteen she was a little careless with it. The magic inside of the item was no more and she was not exactly where she was suppose to be, had she gone forward, back how many hours, days ..years ?

Her best bet was to go to Hogwarts, to speak with Slughorn who might be able to help her. Never mind that he no longer was the Head of House so when she had arrived quietly into the school. Through a hidden back entrance, it was commonly used by Prefects after all. She made her way to the office and opened the door after tapping. She had no idea it would bring her face to face with Severus.

“Professor?” she called.

Little Things

I.Lily likes to write in books to keep notes, this is a bad habit. In fact it extends to other people's books as well. She has left notes on potions in the sidelines of her books of her friends in school books. She has small delicate and elegant writing.

II.She was more interested in the Whompping Willow than afraid of it in school. Her interest in it and her natural Gryffindor attitude almost got her killed her second year, and would have if her best friend had not been there. She still says it was worth it.

III. While she could not be called a regular rules breaker, Lily loved the Forbidden Forest, never mind that is was Forbidden, she often snuck out into it. To gather things for potions, to just have quiet time to herself where James would not pester her.

IV.The real reason the word Mudblood hurt her so much is not just because it was Severus who said it. Rather because it made Tuney right. She was different, unacceptable , a freak. It mede her feel like all the cruel little things Tuney whispered to her when they were growwing up was right. She still loves both of them but again, she keeps them at distants because this means there is actually something wrong with her.

V. She would be the first to say that she rushed into marriage, because of the War. It was something where you had to live for the moment and grab what happiness you could. She would have waited longer if she could do it over. She loved James no less, but when Harry was born, she loved him even more than she thought possible, all the other loves shadowed in comparison. He was her little man. Her sun. He made all the things that had happened worth it all.
