Hi! Im stepping out of character for this post because I feel that it is important. I need to clarify some things !
1. This blog is a roleplay blog, one intended to make satirize the worst parts of the project moon fandom.
If you’ve been following this blog since the early days (April/May 2025), this one might be obvious to you. Like, yeah, the Vagina Scorpions Faust Blog that posts about how morally bad The One Who Grips Faust is and Claims to be Friends with Kim Jihoon is probably a troll. But I want to clear any doubt:
All of the most inflammatory things I post—the “Sinclair is minor-coded” shit, for example, which I will also dig more into in a minute—does not reflect my actual opinions as the author (I do think pedophiles should be shot though that is indeed my belief). The “Francine/Wyoming Faust” character is just that; a character. No one has actually been harassed off the internet by him, nor have any real people been hurt by him. @pennieheart, for example, is another fictional character in this same saga. While the STORY is that Francine doxxed her and ruined her life, that didn’t actually happen.
Continuing from that, one of the main things I want to do with this blog and the Francine character is to drag some of the worst aspects of modern fandom through the mud. The oftentimes binary appraisal of morality (ex. how he sees Hong Lu, also internalized in the Catholic mpreg arc), the refusal to ever forgive people for anything bad they do (ex. the wench), and the tendency for people to force nuanced characters into tropey boxes (ex. Sinclair), among others. I want to strip these sorts of things of their power by making them so over-the-top that they lose their persuasiveness.
Now, whether or not I actually SUCCEEDED at any of this is in the eye of the beholder. I’d be lying if I said I had NEVER done ANY sub-par writing, particularly when it comes to configuring a coherent character with the over-the-top critique. I also sometimes just post the stupidest thing I can think of (ex. the obvious contradiction of Francine supporting Emerald Fennell’s whitewashed Wuthering Heights movie despite hating whitewashed depictions of Limbus Heathcliff). While I have my grander intentions with this blog, I’m not a masterful writer and criticism is valid.
I also wanted to tell a story with the Francine character, a story about the kind of person who argues these over-the-top points with full sincerity. Francine is meant to be a mockery of the worst kind of discourse-hungry twitter user, but who is not irredeemable. In my opinion, all people have the capacity to change for the better—not that making changes erases what emotional harm they’ve done, but that they can always strive to be better and kinder for their own sakes. I do plan for Wyoming Faust to have a happy ending, whenever I end this blog.
On a more sour note, however, something crossed my feed that I need to fucking talk about.
2. Apparently some people think I’m a groomer??
Let me make this crystal clear: I am not a groomer, and neither is the Francine character. I’ve written Francine to be all kinds of awful, but grooming is not something I am comfortable writing about. Acorn/Laurel Yanny(another fictional character in the saga) is the same age as Francine, and always has been. The person who plays them is older than me, as well.
I do think I know where this rumor came from, though. A few months ago, I had Francine say that his partner (Acorn/Laurel Yanny) was “minor-coded” as a way to belittle them. My intention with that was to show how Francine fundamentally misunderstands who Laurel is, indicated by the use of the same language that he used to describe Sinclair.
Francine, in the same vein as some Limbus players, considers Sinclair “minor-coded,” ignoring much of Sinclair’s actual characterization in favor of an infantilized, inaccurate version of him. The infantilization part doesn’t really carry over to how Francine sees Laurel, besides maybe the immaturity it implies—though that was also done by the “minor” part of “Laurel Yanny is minor-coded.”
Where I failed was in my lack of clear and up front confirmation about what Acorn/Laurel Yanny being “minor-coded” actually meant. If you aren’t someone who keeps up with the main storyline and character dynamics of this blog, and are moreso around for Faust content or general pm posting(which I imagine is most people), it can easily come off as horribly icky! Instead of it being a cruel, demeaning remark, it looks like this weird Faust guy is a fucking pedophile. And that’s not even taking into account the nature of Internet Broken Telephone games, which could explain why “Guy calls insults his partner’s intelligence by calling them minor-coded” mutated into “Guy is a groomer.”
It’s my fault that I wasn’t clearer, and I’m sorry. Just because I had my authorial intentions, that doesn’t mean I’m magically exempt from criticism. You’re not obligated to apologize to me, to apologize for any dislike, or to try and force yourself to like the blog. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, satire or otherwise! Blocking is a wonderful feature for cases like these.
Again, I’m so sorry. I’ve been making an effort to be more careful when it comes to what I say and how I say it, especially given the intentionally-inflammatory nature of this blog’s main character.
3. Don’t be smartasses to people who don’t know this is a troll/satire/unfiction
It’s tempting to go “Oh they just didn’t GET IT. It was sooo obvious that this blog was a joke why did they ever believe it was real? Im going to send them hate mail and tell them how stupid I think they are.” Don’t fucking do that. That’s a really shitty thing to do. That’s the kind of thing the Francine character would do.
Again, most people who know of this blog probably don’t keep up with the main storylines. Especially if they think that the character is legitimately Like This and not over dramatic satire. I always made it a point to bury the lead about the truth of Francine’s “realness,” in the same vein as other Croakerverse blogs like hymenrestorationproject and themuppetjoker. I’ve pulled down the character mask in the tags of a few scattered posts, but that’s it! I haven’t tagged my blog as “rp” anywhere until this post. It’s entirely reasonable for people to not put it together that this blog is a troll/satire/unfiction.
The last thing I want to do is have people dogpile someone who doesn’t like the person they like, because a). that’s awful and can genuinely traumatize people, and b). that’s another aspect of modern fandom that I resent. Ive noticed it in the Project Moon fandom (especially on twitter), where criticism towards Limbus’ gameplay or Project Moon’s practices is met with waves of vitriol.
Don’t do that. Don’t be like Francine.
I think that’s everything I wanted to say here. Your regularly scheduled Francine Nonsense will resume within the next few days! Make sure to drink some water, eat some food, and take your meds if you have them and have not yet. Take care!!
