tl;dr they do the nasty in front of a mirror 👀 i promise the vampire stuff is tangentially related somehow 😂 general story beats:

venti's a vampire hunter whose whole identity is based on the vampire hunter that saved him when he was young, like he dresses up as him, doesn't correct people when they say his name wrong (i am on an identity crisis BINGE with poor venti here)

xiao's a vampire... not sure what's up with him yet other than he's juuusstt intriguing enough that when him and venti stumble into each other, they don't immediately kill each other 🤔

and of course when they stumble into each other, eventually it turns into a thing where xiao subsists of venti's blood 😏

this concept is driving me crazy bc i have NO IDEA how to actually start writing this or how much identity stuff we need to inject into this thing, bc i don't need it to be that deep but i feel like i'm opening a can of worms 😬oh well, we'll see where the fic takes us HAHA

Is take half a pint based off of a published book series or did you do all the world building? My friend and i were talking, and it just seems like such an interesting and developed world, we would love to read more if we could

ah no, it isn’t - for better or for worse, the world was hatched from my head. of course, the concepts of vampires, magical crystals/herbs, silver being effective against the undead, supernatural hunters, etc. are nothing new, but i whipped up this combination of my own thing in the end.

 i’m honored it can be considered a published concept, though!!

lmao I love Kekkai Sensen it's such a weird show and it always makes me laugh. Fair warning, I watch the dub of this anime because I'm a heathen and that might reflect in the characterization. Here's an excerpt from a few scenes into it because I don't actually have a summary already written up.

Warning for, uh, Zapp I guess.

Here’s the thing, though; the entire world is always at stake when it comes to Libra. That’s what they do, they deal in world ending events and big bad vampire lords. Since the moment Leo was kinda sorta kidnapped and kinda sorta recruited he’s seen nothing but potentially world ending disasters.

Leo didn’t come to this city to see the world end. Then again, sometimes he thinks that he did. He was told that he was to be a witness back when his life first started to turn upside down. He never really got an answer to what he’s supposed to be witnessing.

He’s pretty sure Zapp sprinting through the streets of Hellsalem’s Lot completely naked isn’t it.

“Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck,” Zapp says in time with his rapid steps. Leo can only pant as he tries to keep up. “Where the fuck did fishbreath go?”

“Where did your pants go?” Leo gasps back. They round a corner and duck behind a dumpster, which is not exactly what Leo wanted to be doing with his Tuesday afternoon.

“That doesn’t matter right now,” Zapp snaps. His hand is bleeding and with a swirl of his wrist he’s holding a blade of blood as long as Leo’s arm. He peeks back around the dumpster, looking for the Otherworld woman with six whiplike arms who was chasing them. “Zed has the case and he’s missing.”

With that little before ripple that Leo is still trying to get the hang of Chain drops from the roof and into the alleyway to stand next to them.

“Why are you naked?”

“That’s what I was trying to figure out!” Leo cuts in.

“Why is that the only thing you people care about?” Zapp demands. He’s looking a little red faced.

“Were you trying to have sex with someone on a job?” Leo asks, incredulous. He could open his eyes to know but he really would rather not. It’s not worth the headache just to find out if Zapp was getting laid.

Chain’s mouth dips down into a frown. “Disgusting.”

“Oi,” Zapp starts, indignant, but before he can get very far the dumpster they were hiding behind is absolutely demolished. 

Leo sees it a split second before it happens, even with his eyes closed. For a moment, less than a heartbeat and certainly not enough time to react, the shrapnel of the dumpster is superimposed on everything in his vision. Then the dumpster bursts.

Chain is gone faster than the integrity of the dumpster can fail and Zapp isn’t far behind, leaving Leo to scramble away at his normal human speeds. Somewhere Zapp is cursing, not that that’s anything new, and the alleyway is absolutely covered in dust.
