Liminal Aro

An aromantic person who doesn't neatly fit, constantly transitions or who feels in the middle between the "hard aro" and "romo aro" labels. Liminal aromantics are those who have a complicated relationship with love, attraction, romance stance and relationships (especially romance and qprs), and have experiences that doesn't fit into the pre-conceived notions of the aro community or expetiences that doesn't receive much attention (such as romance indifferent aromantics or strictly lovepunk aros). That is not to say that x or y is more privileged.

It is also for those who dislike/are against using microlabels for oneself.

I'm coining this term because my aromantic identity is pretty complex and i feel like the existent microlabels are pretty restricting and don't communicate the complexities of my identity properly. This is not a hate for those microlabels, they're rad af but i feel like the aro community is pretty divided between "hard aro" and "romo aro" which doesn't leaves that much space to discuss more grey, hard to define experiences.

I hope that with this label, more discussions about such "liminal" experiences begins to take form and create a space for aros who don't fit in and feel adrift.
