Please elaborate on Linaoki!!!
Lin and Naoki is an old ship i came up with about 5 or 6 years ago when i went through a phase of like exclusively drawing naoki because she means everything to me...
i originally made this ship and a backstory for them when i had the headcanon she was azulas kind of unknown daughter (I had the headcanon that azula gets to live a quiet life away from public eye and scrutiny with naoki as her future daughter, the only people who knew about her were the gaang, their kids and of course the royal family) which is how she and lin met.
It was mostly an unrequited sort of thing inspired by Rose and Pearl from steven universe.
I don't have much for them now with the added information mystery of penquan island gives as well as no real explanation as to how the two of them meet but know this: Naoki punches a council member in the face when discussing her petition for government help in helping refugees from Penquan Island.
The personality i give Naoki is more similar to that of Bolin's with a much more reactive temper and exaggerative expressions, especially after years of having to conform to specific expectations under Panzo's regime. I figured these personalities would mesh well together and still do.
There's also so much angst in a sapphic relationship where it's more of a situationship that meant everything to one party and then the other dies with surviving children.
Naoki always knew that her and her family were at risk of retaliation for fleeing and helping others flee so she asked Lin a favour, to look after her children should anything happen to her and San. Lin does not piece together that mako and bolin are naoki's mako and bolin for a couple years until they go back over their parents murder when they have the new information from the comic and learning that it's an assassination attempt.
