He likes classic rock and also has a taste for 80s-90s pop when the mood strikes. A few of his favorites are Cream, Jefferson Airplane, Simon & Garfunkel, and Whitney Houston. Blondie is also special since Peaches likes it.

I think he would love to pull out some old records and tell peaches all about the bands.

He likes to wear dark greens, blues, and neutrals.

He would love to see peaches in a red house dress. Maybe some Scarlett lipstick.

He's finding that he likes solid color dresses for her because they let her features shine without distraction. But he likes feminine details like eyelets and frills. His taste is a bit old fashioned.

He loves learning how to improve his gardening and farming and has some interest in botany.

He likes fixing things up. He would be down to fix up the whole neighborhood. He would love to see the fences whiter, etc. He's of the same mind as Frank in that respect.

But part of the reason he likes fixing things up and improving things is about control. Like as soon as he moved into the Adlers house he painted the door black, marking his territory.

Imagine him fixing up the empty town, basically treating it like a miniature village. In a different world I could see him into miniatures.

he's still lurking and stalking around my brain. I've written some smut behind the scenes. I worry that I'd be a tease, build more pressure for myself by putting out something small, so I've left him dormant instead. btw this fic has been made into long form AI bots more than once since september, and idk how to explain how discouraging that is, while flattering.

with my hiatus I've been trying to clear out some mental clutter which I hope will be helpful to my progress on fics. but when I come back, it might be gradual or phased, maybe lower drama fandoms / lower pressure fics first. slashers, night walks, narcos. idk, it is what it is. ty for reading 🍑

i could slap 4-5k of meat on the table without tasting it and say

but i'm not gonna do that cause it's RAW. There's no risotto. The scallops aren't browned. It would be a DISGRACE. my kitchen has been taken over this month (quite literally) and i just haven't been able to cook this the way it deserves. Life will calm down. I love your post about what kind of light someone is so I wrote a little blurb about what kind of light I think Lincoln Joel would be.

Lincoln Joel is Twilight. You write him in a way that we get to see the light and darkness in him. He's so caring, nurturing to Peaches but of course we know there is darkness in him too. Past his warm brown eyes is a promise of fear, of death. The slow burn of his actions to get Peaches to himself, to make sure no one else has her, and stop anyone who gets in his way, is like the impending darkness as the sun sets. As the reader we can see that Lincoln is dangerous, a murderer, a liar. But through Peaches's eyes, he's more light than dark (imo not saying it's fact). He's the warmth of the sun, even though it is setting. He's comfort, love, the epitomy of safety when locked in his muscular, strong arms. But she knows, knows that he is danger. The impending darkness of the night after the sun goes down. As a reader, I'm drawn to both sides of him. I love the way you write all the characters in the story, and how you make the darkness so beautiful 🥰

I was just casually thinking about Lincoln Joel today. Imagining him maybe altering readers ring from her father to fit him. Like the inner contractor in him maybe made a ring out of wood and added shavings/parts from the father’s ring or he used a metal utensil to meld onto the ring to make it bigger. Idk something like that i don’t actually know anything about making rings.

I love this! It was messed up the way he showed up with that ring after her brief attempt to have something private and ensure her ability to protect herself. I agree taking the ring and physically turning it into something "romantic" would be his m.o., like a microcosm of how he's overwriting her life with himself at the center. Not maliciously but in obsession. Thank you 🖤

It's fascinating how I find Lincoln!Joel creepier than Raider!Joel. Lincoln!Joel seems to have more malice. He can keep a level head and he knows exactly how to manipulate Reader. I'm hooked on both stories. They are amazing!

if you really wanna know. . .in addition to an answer there is a little bit of pt. 5 smut below the cut as an example of his sneakier toxicity.

he's obsessive. he needs you to need him and would do ANYTHING to have you to himself. he's strategic or "organized" and deceptive in this pursuit. as opposed to someone like slasher or raider being impulsive or "disorganized" and brazen in their actions.

also, he really fucks with your head and you might not even realize it. this is from pt. 5 when you go get in his bed during a very bad storm, and you're scared. :

. . .But you were also a little shy about how needy you felt. . . The moment you started overthinking it, Joel noticed and pulled back.   He experimentally grinded his cock against your front. He leaned his temple against yours and whispered, “Just ‘cause it's there don’t mean ya gotta do anything with it.”  You breathed an internal sigh of appreciation, even though you were salivating to have it in your mouth again. Except for what I want most, you thought to yourself.   

A lot going on here, but maybe the least obvious - when he says it won't hurt his feelings if you go back to your bed, he's denying you the options of just lying in his bed or being held by him. Acting like those options don't even exist. Like let me edge you to death or go back to your room.
