Being someone who isn’t as physically strong as others, Owl relies heavily on his mind and intellect to accomplish things. If he can think his way out of something, he’ll do it. This, compounded on the fact that instinct and Intuition often rely on a “luck of the draw” principle for him, which -with his bad luck- automatically makes them less than reliable.
Emotions are just as risky. When basing his decisions on emotions of the moment, Owl has found himself in very compromising situations, situations that marked him in more ways than one. Through this, he’s learned how quickly something can change and that if he doesn’t keep his emotions in check, they’ll open him up more to taking those risks based on instinct and intuition.
But of all the means and methods of decision making there is, his faith and spirituality are the only things that trump his reason. His knowledge and devotion to the laws and practices of his religion, as well as the crowning diety of his world, the Great Sovereign, can be seen in every aspect of his life. From the tiny diamond-star charm he wears around his neck to the way he conducts himself in private and public. In fact, one could say that his connection with the Starfolk, Lunas, is the epitome of his spiritual connection as she is his direct link to the master and father of all Starfolk, the Great Sovereign.
