THE DAY EARTHA KITT WENT ROUGE. EARTHA KITT and LBJ @ WHITE HOUSE: On January 18th, 1968, Eartha Kitt stood in a room full of caucasian women at The Women Doers Luncheon and in front of Lady Bird Johnson's face told her the government was sending the best of the youth off to be shot and killed and, in not so many words, that THAT was the reason the youth were rebelling. She ALSO stopped President Johnson after he made a statement claiming that mothers should be responsible for stopping their kids from becoming criminals. She asked the President about the parents who had to work twice as hard and as a result can’t spend time with their children because they they have to provide for their family. Her comments were brushed off by first lady LBJ, and she was only concerned about the funding for day care centers that was put in place by the recently passed Social Security bill. She also intimated then that the women Eartha was speaking about should figure out family life and work for themselves. Eartha responded that they did without any help from the Government. Eartha Inline image was blacklisted in the US for nearly a decade , but she defended every word she said that day and has no regrets. When asked by a reporter if she had regretted what she has said, EARTHA replied no, she cannot hide the truth and if LadyJohnson and the President felt awkward, that is their problem.💥💥💥 #earthakitt #straighttalk #blacklivesmatter #lindenjohnson
