Our dinosaur games are hand-animated using the frame by frame approach, which gives them that unique, charming feel.
I recently found a very nice backup of pre-production animation from our first game - the in-game animations speed varies depending on the target use (since all delays/framerates are controlled by the code/engine anyway - anything between 4 and 24 FPS), while FMV cutscenes of both games are done in TV standard of 12 FPS.
