Been playing through Steins;Gate Linear Bounded Phenogram whilst watch the translated videos on Zakobot’s YouTube channel as I can’t read Japanese and I’m loving the character stories and scenarios. My two favourite scenes so far have been an adult Nae befriending a young Suzuha in the future and Faris reuniting with an older Suzuha a couple of days after Suzuha left in the time machine without saying goodbye
I've recently finished Steins;Gate LBP, a side game featuring stories from different timelines and different characters. So what's better than to rank these 11 stories from worst to best?
11th: Dr. Jekyll Online (B tier) Out of all of them, this is prob my least favourite, as i feel as if this story is was made for it to introduce to you to how its gonna work, and it does a good job! though by doing so, it kind of lacks behind.
As the storyline is one we have kinda seen before, with Okabe missing Mayuri, though i like the new turn to it with alpaca man and trying to find justice but always having evil follow it. And its interesting seeing how Okabe copes with Mayuri's death.
10th Abduction Across Three Worlds (B Tier) And here is Okabe's 2nd story, this one is much more technical and its less filled with emotional moments, but more comedically and technical moments like the use of the Phonewave and how it affects a worldline
My problem with this one is that it can get way too confusing at times, like the thing was a jumbled mess on my mind until i somehow figured it out. Also, i def felt as if this was a waste to declare this as a 4% storyline when it could have easily been an alpha one.
9th: The Caged Bird Sings (B Tier) This one is a lot more cute than anything, it shows how Itaru and Yuki are kind of destined to meet and find each other even in completely different worldlines. Its cute seeing them together and surprising to see Yuki here too!
My main problem in this extends from Itaru pervertedness being over the roof, he gen cant go a single line without throwing one. and while it can be funny on the main storyline, when it comes to him and being on his mind and seeing it everywhere, it becomes annoying
8th: Hermaphroditus In the Labyrinth (A Tier) A nice Alternate storyline where not only do we see what Lukako went through in his time where he went back in time with the leap machine, but also an alternate ending where he DOESNT tell Rintaro the truth. Not much else to say.
7th: Ghostly Rendezvous (A Tier) The Suzuha from different timelines! Personally, this one is super nice purely from how much i adore Omega Suzuha (Supposedly Steins; Gate Suzuha). She is super cute and adorable and deserves the world (1/2)
I also loved the interactions between the 3 Suzuhas, they are so fun to see and how their personalities clash, especially Omega and Beta Suzuha with their banter with who gets to be called Suzuha, either Alpha, or Omega. (2/2)
6th: Superhero Chat-Noir (A tier) Just a lovely story on how Faris is handling the loss of her Father and how her personality is a way for her to cope with it. Especially amazing how this chapter can lead up to others like Suzuhas with her accept your family. great Yugo ep too.
5th: Vermilion Soteria (A Tier) Feat episode that can seemingly fit in the original timeline of Steins;Gate, this was a surprisingly good episode for Idabashi, as we get to see he isn't all horrible and can have a softer and nicer side to him.
4th: Lunar Bifröst (S Tier) Stellar ending, it develops Nae in a wholesome and cute way. I really liked the interactions of Daru and Nae, though preferable he could have toned down the pervertedness by 100%. But i like how he lied to protect her, shows he still cares abt her.
3rd: The Quantum Awakening (S Tier) PEAK EPISODE, Moeka gets such an arc in this, and i believe its the saddest, and most bittersweet episode out of all of them. It shows how much of a broken mess Moeka is and how just some appreciation is more than enough for her.
2nd: Eternal Polaris (S tier) Mayuri peaks in this, this almost feels like it could have been the original Mayuri ending on steins gate, but decided to move it here, i personally enjoyed it a lot more than her ending, as we get to see her relation with her grandma and guilt.
1st. Filled with Love (S Tier) This was a number one the moment i played it, the struggle Yugo goes to merely get Nae to feel happy because she had to live without her mom is so heart-breaking, especially considering how she died while giving birth. (1/3)
Like the story is so nice because Yugo tries his best to give Nae a happy life while being an only father, but always failing because what she really misses is Suzuha, AKA someone from another timeline who doesn't exist in this one.
This especially hits hard in the end with the "Time Heals" message, as we see the future where Nae and Suzuha finally re-meet as she finally is born. Like this image alone is enough to fill my eyes with tears. Overall, and amazing and best story out of the bunch
Sometimes as I read the Tips on Steins;Gate I am *not* prepare for the next one.
For example, I'm playing Linear Bounded Phenogram right now. I was reading the Tip on Buffalo Bella, and (wrongly) assumed that Loli Socks Buffaloes was a sock company with a mascot that people lost it over, kinda like Tony the Tiger.
But no, it's a pro Baseball team
(Side not: this is one of the more batshit off the wall games so far)
