The #military stand-off between #Indian and #Chinese troops on the #LineofActualControl has escalated and led to deadly clashes. Twenty #IndianArmy personnel, including a #colonel, were killed in clashes with #Chinesetroops in the #GalwanValley in eastern #Ladakh on Monday night, the biggest military #confrontation in over five decades. Soon after the news of the confrontation broke, Indian Twitter did what they do best - unleashed a war on #Chinese President #XiJinping on #socialmedia. And they did so by trending a hashtag, #WinnieThePooh. Since 2013, comparisons have drawn between #Jinping and the beloved #cartoon character. Jinping saw it as an attack on his dignity and decided to censor #Chinesemedia, including social media platforms. Movies, toys, TV shows - anything related to Winnie the Pooh has been blocked in China. With tensions between India and China on the rise, Indian Twitter has decided to use these comparisons and memes to attack the #Chineseleadership. Tap the link in bio to read more.
