A not so fun fact about royal chaos. In the Biography section for Lord Yi it talk about his brothers. It also says that he saw a bright future with Lingchen (the Emperor) and it very likely he help Lingchen get to power. He the only brother we see support the Emperor.
This makes the idea that Lord Yi would try and take the throne very small. I personally think that out of all his siblings Lord Yi has always got on better with the Emperor and visa versa . He probably sees how he handles the Haram to be stupid, but dispite that he completed supports his brother. Kinda like Lingxi.
From what I can tell. The only real time the Emperor does something political that Lord Yi is against was the plague thing. However in the male story it was revealed that a physician gave a report that the poor were reveling and and the illnesses was getting out of control.
With the wedding with Ruyan's daughter. There were hits of regret and it was the choice of loss a child or keep the child and have a war. It was a hard position and the only other Princess was Lingxi (how he found out was in love with Male MC and that would like end up like Jingxue).
Compare to his other brothers, Lingfeng and Lingchaun, the Emperor is nice. In the male story they have affairs with place woman, send assassin to kill people, set people up, set up stuff to make their younger sister think she's losing her mind and try to kidnap her. They also use their youngest brother Lingyun. So to Lord Yi the Emperor probably isn't so bad.
All in all, unless the Emperor did something truly disposable, I have a feeling Lord Yi would stay Loyal.
