All things considered, he shouldn’t be having these issues with slimes of all things. Wherever he’d ended up, as it obviously wasn’t Hyrule, had slimes as well, but there was something off putting about them. They had faces, and much like the ones that he dealt with on a daily basis, they were different colors. But that was about where the similarities ended.
Really that was the only thing in common.
Where as the ones he normally saw had different colors, these ones apparently had wildly different properties, if the ones setting the grass on fire were anything to go off of. They had been easily dispatched, using his bow to keep well away from them. It wasn’t the last one that wouldn’t throw him off though. The water based ones weren’t too much of an issue, but it was the ones producing frost that he found an issue.
Link already didn’t do too well with cold, let alone fighting something that could make the grip on his sword painful, fingers going numb the longer he spent in close proximity with it. He wasn’t stupid enough to back himself any closer to the water either, being frozen in place was a sure way to lose this fight.
Were he any less of a fighter, the frigid blast of air that nearly took him off his feet would have been a reason to turn tail and flee, were it not for the person that rushed past him and knocked the slime a fair distance away. Slow as the things were, it afforded him a moment to sheathe his sword, shaking out his numb fingers in favor of switching to a bow.
“ I’d offer you my thanks, but I think there’s something a little more pressing to take care of. ”
