Podcast with Pernille
Lyt som podcast her på DR LYD. Hun er blevet kåret til verdens bedste kvindelige fodboldspiller og er både anfører og topscorer på det dansk
The podcast is in 3 parts, when she's 10, 20 and 30 years old.
Highlight from the podcast:
1:40 - She listens to "Running Up That Hill" before training and games.
4:00 - When she was 10 years old, Pernille and her sister listened to the band Westlife's "When You're Looking Like That".
7:35 - When they were on vacation, camping, in Italy, many of the kids thought she was a boy and called her Per.
9:10 - Mentions the assignment she wrote as a 10-year-old again, but says nothing new.
9:50 - Talks about her debut at 16 years. How nervous she was and that she couldn't be in her own body, but as soon as she stepped on the field, she felt okay and after he game and the hat-trick, it was the best feeling in the world.
12:00 - Part two starts, where she's 21 years and plays for Linköping
12:45 - Shortly after they had moved in together, they started listening to Queen "Another One Bites the Dust" together. It was Pernille who put it on first, and then it became their thing.
13:50 - Normally, Magda is the one introducing good songs for Pernille, and not the other way around. They share the same taste in music.
14:45 - Talks about when they met each other. That it was at work. Mention that it took some time before they got together. Then says they both wanted Math in A level and took the classes together, and the host it just like "Why math?". Pernille said they wanted to do something else than football and fell in love.
16:35 - She was nervous about telling her friends and family at home that she had gotten together with a girl. She felt like it was almost a new identity.
17:10 - Said everyone was happy for her and said her mom had said she knew. That when her family had been on a visit, they should always walk past Magda's apartment, something Pernille had never really thought about was a sign, but she could see now, looking back.
18:50 - Talks about how it was quite lonely for the first half a year. That she had a lot of free time. After half a year, new players came (one of them Magda) and she quickly became good friends with them and slowly got better at Swedish.
19:25 - The team she came to in Linköping didn't have a good close togetherness and was a bit split and had hierarchy. After the frst half year, there came a new coach and half of the team got changed, and the new personalities from the new players fitted her perfectly. Also mentions he was one of the best coaches she has ever had.
20:55 - the last part where she is 30 years. Start on a vacation in Mexico on Isla Holbox with Magda.
22:50 - Mentions that she likes older songs and the melodies (while the song "Seabird" by Alessi).
24:00 - She would rather be on the same team as Magda than against her, not just in football, but in everything they play, as they are both so competitive. And generally about how they get each other after good/bad games.
25:20 - She is asked what the plan for her future is. She says she doesn't really have a plan for the next couple of years. She says she wants to stay in football and help new young players.
26:35, says she hopes they get to the World Cup, that "that's the plan. If not, I don't know it I have more tournaments in me" (she says it in a joking tone and with a smile, and adds, "let's see").
Accidentally took a detour while traveling to our vacation destination because we were looking for a pharmacy.
Then suddenly we were in Linköping, the place I really wanted to see because of Ghost but my mum didn't want to.
Things happen for a reason and I even got to see the Cathedral 🤩
"A man in Linköping was accused of having copulated with the tree spritits in the middle of the 1640s, an accusation that it is hard to defend oneself from. The same pattern shows up in later stories about people who unknowingly got married off to a tree. By hiring a someone who was skilled in magic, a lovesick but rejected person could prevent their beloved from marrying someone else. Usually a lock of hair from the beloved and a short cylindrical piece of wood with their name carved into it was needed [for the ritual]. The items were buried under a pine tree while powerful magic formulas were chanted. This engaged the beloved to the tree, which meant that they could not marry someone else."

every so often i forget that renee used to actually be a player and has some crazy connections
the fact that she was on a team with pernille and magda, stina (who she now coaches), emma (frida's girlfriend), and rolfo is wild to me.
