I've always found Link and Fi so compelling there was just... Something about the advanced ancient weapon in ones hands, in the process of realizing her true potential, also learning to care for her wielder. Something about forming a bond with a piece of technology that hadn't been made to experience emotion, particularly one that was meant to be used in the context of violence alone. That bond being something so all-encompassing that Fi spends the remainder of her infinitesimal existence in devotion to the idea of a soul like his, allowing her to transcend her original purpose and play an active role in their shared fates... As time goes on, and the extent of her sacrifices and commitment becomes more clear with each game, it resonates even deeper.
