Also Sparrowspots is here! My sweet country farmcat. They are agender and use they/them pronouns, it's just that Oriolepaw is forming gender opinions for the first time give her some slack. Also, some more backstory crumbs! I wonder what it all means...

Time for a lore drop! And Oriolepaw is getting more curious about her clan's past

This chapter was really important to me to develop the culture of my clans. I'm not the first person to point this out but it is so boring a lame that the canon clans don't have any kind of holidays or celebrations and they don't sing or have festivals??? BORING ITS SO BORING!!

So here are our Duskclan cats having a festival of their own and we learn a little more about that day a year ago... Also, who is that stranger on the last page...?

First DtD of the year! And a bit of a layout change

I love Hootpaw and Oriolepaw's friendship. And all I want for them is to be able to look at bugs together. But alas they were born into a bloodfighter family. Linnetpaw not having a good time, as usual.

Chapter One is here!

And we finally meet our protagonist Oriolepaw! She and Linnetpaw were the first kits born after the formation of Duskclan by their mother, Haretail. She's got a thirst for knowledge and enough energy to last for days. I hope you all enjoy her as much as I do.

A lot of this chapter was me figuring out a workflow and the formatting I want to use for this project. If it isn't obvious already, a lot of my inspiration comes from Barrenclan (Which you should absolutely read if you haven't)

As most first chapters are, this is mainly setup and character establishing. But it won't be long until we start moving this story along! Feel free to send any asks my way if you've got any questions :)

Yeah it's an undertale reference, what about it?

Oriolepaw learns about the battle hungry culture she was born into, oops. Linnetpaw seems to be into it though.

I'm sure I'm going to get asks about it anyway so the two birds on the cover are a linnet and a red tailed hawk, and the owl is a great horned owl. Also, yes Cormorantblaze is a healer who has a child. We'll get more into that later. But it's not a secret, everyone in the clan knows

I will be traveling again for the holidays, so there probably won't be another update before the end of the year. So, as a treat, get this one a week early. Enjoy :}
