Yus, they're two humans and a vulcan, existing on a ship together in a beautiful trifecta of energy. I stuck a bit with the original trifecta grouping: leader, medical and science??? at least where they could cover the ship's needs and I could tell stories from different perspectives lol. Asier started as a science division, Eira is engineering and Lamb is medical.
their ship is uhhh, idk in the OST era??, so one of their nice Enterprise style ships?? I imagine the Enterprise logs are fascinating for the group to read 'cause that ship is Out Exploring the far reaches, whereas the Hephaestus is closer to their home in the galaxy.
Lamb is a fun mix to the duo as well 'cause she's serious and tells it how it is so she talks with Asier and it's just DRY WIT everywhere and Eira is Suffering as the only one with a soul apparently. But Eira would (and has) throw down for anyone who treats Asier poorly for being a Vulcan captain, knowing just how much her friend cares.
I think after the mission where Asier ends up captain, she aggressively cares for her crew??? and people know Vulcans have a careful lid balanced on their emotions but Asier was barely chief science officer before she inherited the entire ship and its remaining crew. And people know how important life is to a Vulcan, coming from a planet of dust and few days of rainfall. So it became the logical step to preserve all of their lives with all of her Being.
uhH it terms of TV captains, maybe Janeway??? Janeway is Tough, she loves her crew and wants desperately to get back. But she's fair too yknow?? Asier loves her crew, loves their commitment to exploration (as a science NERD she gets excited when they find new planets and no one comments on how she like, almost smiles and moves Faster which is already hilarious because Asier is Tall and Fast so like, good luck catching up to this excited vulcan my friends) and just like, loves them all lots.
Eira hosts Lamb and Asier in her room often, as she has the best couches and Lamb brings her soft heirloom blankets and Asier brings vulcan tea and they all sprawl out and chill. Eira is the only one who can lean against Asier without being pushed off or subtly stared at with disgust. They've known each other for like, fuck, 15 years??? and can finish each others sentences if they're not careful.
I wanna say like, canon-wise, we're in the Hephaestus' fifth year in space since its first year and subsequence attack that switched around the entire crew?? they've explored, had some time off on random fun planets, and it's a good time
