angst version- somewhere in the mansion are places where the library turns into places from his past. like the kitchen is based off of the kitchen where he grew up with his family, and there is a study that looks like it should be in a cottage somewhere.

He never intends to make those things, but sometimes when he makes the mansion it’s after a really bad day, and his mind is a mess, and is elsewhere even as he’s trying to focus on the spell.

Yup. And the entire time he's talking beau and nott have moved to stand between him and the group, fully prepared to step in and defend caleb from any hurtful question or words.

Which don’t come, because more than anything everyone else is just horrified. Like, they knew Caleb had issues - that much was plain to see - but none of them expected it to be this fucking bad.

not to mention having to /explain/ to the others of the group what had happened and why if its still just beau and nott that know.

Caleb having to explain to the rest of TMN what just happened, and why. Caleb having to explain his backstory and history because it’s the only way they’ll understand what just happened. Caleb not being able to look any of them in the eye, quietly saying how if it makes them comfortable he will leave, he understands, he will get it if they don’t want to be in the company of a man who’s committed patricide.
