bpd & szpd comorbids happen a lot bc someone is bpd and develops szpd as a way to cope with the extreme emotion. moodswings still occur but the emotions are muted/limited in range. feelings abt abandonment are probably lessened to cause less distress. all pds can be comorbid; on a scale of -1 (very unlikely) to 1 (very likely), szpd/bpd comorbidity is placed at 0.56
mental illnesses interact w each other and aren't limited to singular presentations. ex. anger outbursts caused by bpd are followed by schizoid emptiness, distress in interpersonal relationships causes splitting and no longer caring about the continuation of relationships, etc.
And here’s some input about BPD + SZPD comborbidity. Again, I’ve no idea whether that’s actually the case or not, but yeah, seems like a nice explanation of how those two might interact.
