More Babies Headcanons ~
Post-Season 2 Headcanons feat. Lion-O and Tygra as Dads:
We’ll start with King Lion-O and his children. :3
Lion-O and Kit have fraternal twins (male and female, just like Kit/Kat and their younger siblings). But I’ve already said that.
They name their eldest boy Wilycub and firstborn/eldest girl Claudia (Clawdia?) because she made it out ahead of her brother and Lion-O wanted to name his firstborn after his father.
Possibly Wilycub is named after or in the tradition of Kit’s dad?
I’ve already bleated my preference for Lion-O’s kids to inherit Kit’s lighter coloring because white lions, guys! ...But lately I’ve been growing fond of Claudia closely resembling Lion-O’s mother, too, so.
Two fluffy snowballs running around are still great!
One fluffy snowball and one (half) lioness who could be Lion-O’s mother’s identical twin are also great!
I have this mental scenario in my head where Wilykit’s first pregnancy results in cubs (because Lion-O is a big cat), but since Kit’s body is built for kittens, she has a hard time of it; so she and Lion-O plan their next pregnancy with the use of technology to ensure the next set of twins will be kittens.
Their cubs have Lion-O’s ears, and do not have tails; and their kittens have Kit’s ears as well as tails.
One of those tails is fluffy like Kit’s, and the other is a lion’s tail.
I have Third Earth-sized headcanons on the differences between kittens and cubs, and the genetics of breeding between different cat clans, but that warrants its own post lol. Also it's probably totally wrong and the cats procreate exactly like humans because that fits well with canon.
Now to throw Bengali’s father into the mix!
Tygra expects to make an incredible father since he’s “perfect,” but like being king he totally fails (has a rocky relationship with Bengali, friction in his family, &c); Lion-O initially doubts his ability to father (the way he doubted his ability to king &c), but is wonderful with his and Kit’s twins. If Tygra is resurrected after Mumm-Ra’s defeat, he solicits fatherhood advice from little brother Lion-O, and ultimately they forge a new relationship and bond (finally!!) over being dads.
Also Bengali idolizes Lion-O because of all the stories he heard growing up before finally meeting the king. I just really like this dynamic, especially before Lion-O and Wilykit fall in love, so there's Mumm-Ra and time travel and his brother apparently had a cub and now that kid is hero-worshipping Lion-O and following him around and family and Lion-O really just can't take all that right now.
