His chest hurt with the effort of holding back sobs as he clung to Shiro’s shirt, head bowed and eyes pressed tightly shut. There was something humiliating about his situation, despite how close the two had grown over time. There was still that nagging voice reminding him he should be stronger, for Shiro. So he wasn’t such a burden to their leader, his love, his hero. 

“No, Shiro, you don’t understand. I can’t lose you.” They’d been so close. Lance had already experienced it before and he wasn’t sure he could go through the stress, the late nights pouring over astral charts, the withering hope that he’d ever see him again.

He’d hardly given the older man a moment to breathe after they had landed, stumbling out of his lion while running purely on the rush of post battle adrenaline and straight into Shiro’s arms. 

“Not again. Don’t leave me again.”

Shiro just all "...he could sing the phone book and I'd pay to listen..."

PFFFT. But Shiro is talented himself! His VA is a very good singer!! ;w; Lance finally hears Shiro’s voice and is just all, ‘YOU SING LIKE AN ANGEL WTF.’

Lance was just thankful that his mistakes hadn’t caused any damage to the team. It had been a close call, and the first time he really feared for his life. He had froze, giving the Galra soldier the full advantage, and before he knew it there was a gun to his head and he was trying not to cry in front of his friends.
