Shalom!

Hi! My name is Kate Lior O. Silang. You can call me Lior (Li-or/Liyor) not (Layor). I'm 19 years old and I was born in Israel. I’m not an Israeli tho. My parents are both Filipino. Why in Israel? My grandmother (my mother’s mother) sent my parents there to work. When I was 4 years old, my mother and I went to Philippines because of school, while my dad was left there to work.

I am now studying at De La Salle Lipa, taking Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Arts. I love editing pictures and videos that is why I came to take this course. I discovered that when I was in highschool, you know, making video projects in school. The good thing was my parents were both going-for-it when it comes to deciding which course I’d like to take because they want me to continue and improve my editing skills while enjoying myself.

I was making book covers for Wattpad back then and I opened a Graphic Shop there and made many covers despite of being so cringey. I always laugh whenever I come back to my designs at that time, especially the first time I edit (LOL).

But of course, I also have book covers that I personally like.

(I know I’m still lacking. This was made back 2013 and I think my style has changed since then.)

Moreover, by doing graphic designs at Wattpad, an author requested a book cover from me and her story is called, “She’s Mine. Only Mine.” But what I didn’t expect was for her book to be published with my design on it!

(I’m so sorry for my face. This was taken 4 years ago. So embarassing, I know. But I’m still proud. Hihi. She gave me her books as her payment.)

Anyway, moving on, I really love singing. It was my first love in terms of hobby because of my mom. I remember her asking me to try singing her favorite songs and made song covers out of it. As time goes by, I ended up liking singing too. While my dad was in Israel, we sang the same song but recorded separately. And my mom, being editor herself, merged our recorded songs with my dad and made a beautiful output. I joined vocal solo contests in Canossa College (elementary) but unfortunately, I didn’t win in any of them. I’m just a qualifier, but it’s okay. I also love dancing; however, I’m not that good about it especially when I’m in my elementary days. But this college, I managed to improve myself and felt confident about it (thanks to my classmates who also love dancing). Other than singing and dancing, I also love playing piano. Piano was definitely my second love when it comes to my hobby because I started playing piano when I was 6 years old. My mom took me to piano lessons near my elementary school. My aunt then gave me a piano as a gift for my 7th birthday and until now, I’m still using that. Other instrument that I play is guitar. Just a self-taught process.

I’m also a Kpop fan (don’t judge me haha). I’m a big fan of BTS (Bangtan Boys) because first of all, they are all good-looking, I admit. Next is because of their song. They mostly produce their own music but still making it inspiring and good harmonies/rap/lyrics. Anyway, I make song covers too, but mostly they are bangtan’s songs (hihi). I also went to their two concerts already so I’m very happy!
