Sap coated logs that carried the scent of pine trees, they covered the forest floor and grasped to the last autumn leaves that had fallen that past October. Spring had yet to come so some trees, naked to the bare bark, reached up into the sky. They gripped for something so far away, so distant, that he couldn’t quite understand. The darkened sky, with clouds heavy with icy rain, angel tears– it blocked out any sunlight that may want to come to him. An ominous shadow of foreboding seemed to have it’s hold on the woodlands. This darkness, however, didn’t bother him in the slightest; made obvious by the fact he easily vaulted over a log with the practiced precision that beat an amateur gymnast.
Scrooge maneuvered quietly through the forest, his steps careful and light, he was far too worried about alerting a dark presence to his location than any of the comfort of the animals– but it worked for both it seemed. The animals didn’t seem disturbed by his presence and as he slipped past a few deer who merely stared at him, he didn’t set them to run away. The leaves crumpled beneath his light weight, but that still didn’t make him all that loud and as such was able to sneak around without much difficulty. Old three foot tall duck, quiet as a mouse, and yet he moved quickly without much trouble. He was an adventurer after all, going on insane treasure hunts, wanting to feel the danger and the trouble all while searching for new ways to improve his wealth.
When the sound of movement reached his ears, he froze, eyes wide and gaze drifting about the wilderness around him. ‘Domesticated’ duck that glared around in concern and worry. Was there a chance that someone would try to attack, or some wild beast that knew what he had come here for? A rumor, a story, of something special hidden in the depths of the forest that he found himself in. Deep in some cavern within the breathing earth, with trees that hid it away into obscurity. Monsters that lurked in bushes and in the trees, glaring down at any that dare search for it. He was stronger than that though, and if this was the adventure to kill him, well than so be it– he wouldn’t turn back. That didn’t make him any less alarmed though.
Bending down, getting low to the ground, he scanned the surrounding area and proceeded even more carefully than before. He listened as close as he could to the sounds that may or may not be going on around him. There was nothing but silence, not even the wild beasts stirred. At first he thought that it may just be a wild bear, but his mind went and disposed of that idea quickly. Would bears be out to attack this time of year? He wasn’t quite sure, and as he slipped around he felt even more sure of this. Perhaps it was something more intelligent? Maybe he wasn’t the only searching for this treasure, or perhaps someone else was just here. Someone who resided within, perhaps maybe even a guardian.
He peeked up over the underbrush and found himself to be face to face with a being far different than himself. The other was much taller than him, instead of feathers they had skin, and instead of pure white exterior they looked so much different. They weren’t a duck at all! They weren’t an animal like Mickey or Goofy either! No they were truly something different. Memories of sea salt ice cream, creatures dark as ink, and a king that just so happened to also be his honorary nephew due to his being best friends with Donald. With this shocking revelation he stumbled back a bit, falling on his rear end and nearly knocking his head on a tree just behind him.
“Curse me kilts!” He couldn’t help himself from crying out when he fell, staring up at the face that gradually morphed from someone he thought he knew until it became the stranger he was truly staring at. He didn’t know what to think about this all. He had seen humans through those past encounters, but that didn’t make them any less surprising to him. Scrooge had gotten up quickly, refusing to look like just a poor old man, he was ‘tougher than the toughies’ after all and he’d like to stay that way. “And who might ye be?” His voice was still showing signs of that surprise and shock, but for the most part it had returned to that harsh Scottish tone. The tone that so easily put Donald in a position and want to throw fists. Not like he ever would.
As he stood awaiting for an answer he brushed the leaves out of his white feathers, the scent of sap flowering up into his nostrils. At least that was pleasant enough.

It was quiet, silent even, the crickets refused to chirp and the bugs hardly fluttered. The silence was almost eerie, a lonesome feeling that couldn’t quite be comprehended by the beast. The only other person who wandered the house at the time was Silky. Chise had gone to bed long ago, Ruth by her side as she did so, but Elias found that he wasn’t tired at all. In fact he was quite the opposite of tired. He was wide awake and distracted with other things. Sitting in the living room with a book in his hand, he was satiating his curiosity. The book was one about psychology and the impact of emotions, what they were, and how they effected the behavior of humans especially in society. Pulling facts from sociology as well.
He was no more than a child in an adult’s body after all, he was just as curious as a kid no older than six or seven. He wanted to learn and understand but all the same having only one teacher who was especially young, only made it harder to understand at times. Was he feeling anxiety or worry? Was he feeling depressed or just sad? Was he feeling joy or excitement? Emotions are so close to each other that they are hard to identify and understand, and then hard to let them effect his actions in an irrational way. Elias found he had to work harder and harder to get things to work the way he wants them too. So what did he do? He studied hard and tried his best to make things work out. He wanted to understand and to play his actions and interactions accordingly.
The silence of his home was perfect to do that. With nobody speaking to him, nobody doing anything, and the night still and calm it was relatively easy to study. He was lonely, of course, that much he could understand as Chise wasn’t by his side walking him through his studies, but he would have to make due until he felt himself growing weary from exhaustion and thus decided to join her in bed. That was his favourite part of the day, the time where he could lay down beside his wife and fall asleep, feeling her presence beside him even if he couldn’t hold her really because of the way he has to be positioned in order to sleep.
The knock at the door brought his attention back to reality. His gaze rose and he heard Silky open the door before she quickly went to retrieve the master of the house. “A guest? How peculiar…” He mused beneath his breath quietly.

‘Breaking News, there appears to be a huge fire at the research facility of the ever enigmatic SCP Foundation. Press has been unable to enter the walls since the Foundation’s official founding over one hundred years ago. All we have been told is that something dangerous is contained within each of the Foundation’s individual sites. The Foundation claims they have everything under control and that they have recovered everything that they could, what hasn’t been recovered is most likely destroyed. Nevertheless they encourage the public to keep an eye out for anything unusual or strange in the coming months.’
His hand stopped as those words filtered through his brain, what was that from again? So long ago it felt, since his escape in early February. He could recall the feeling of his skin being burned, his ‘clothes’ being torn, his body being crippled in all senses of the word, and yet he stood and walked away. He hid for a long time, quiet and silent, most likely believed to be dead as he worked hard to remain off the radar. Until he was able to move swiftly again, until he was fully recovered, most likely he would halt his experiments and disappear into the darkness of hiding.
The scent of flowers carried on the breeze was accompanied by the feeling of spring– That was such a long time ago wasn’t it? Now it was early April, as evidence by the tomfoolery that made themselves apparent in small towns; following traditions of April Fools Day. The warm air also showed the welcoming signs of spring, he could see the flowers blooming as time went on. Opening up their beautiful petals to reveal their interior, most likely to spread pollen and breed through the use of carriers such as butterflies and bees. Nevertheless they were splendid in appearance.
From where he sat underneath a tree he had no idea that there was a person nearby. His book in his hand, pen clenched tightly, the sunbeams that trickled through the shadows it was all so soothing. He enjoyed it greatly. While he was more of a night person, this was rather calming just as well. The soft wind was what alerted him to the feeling of being watched.
“Hello… What can I help you with?” He asked, confusion lacing his voice as his eyes stared onward to the stranger.

In other words, thank you for following!
"May I have this dance?"
“But of course, your Highness,” said the Duke, grinning fromear to ear at the request. “Shall it be a waltz or a tango?” he suggested, tone leaning towards the latter. “I’mflexible with either for you…”
‘Smooch’
Blinking after receiving a kiss from PrincessAurora, the Duke lifted his gaze up to her. He blushed and then raised a hand toher face. “I’m flattered that you feel the same way,” the smaller man whisperedbefore giving the Princess a grateful kiss of his own, in return.
