Dark brown eyes carefully take in what is presented to him as he entered the living room. Of course, Danielle is giving him that huffy little glare of hers that easily shows how she’s not exactly happy about his words over the phone. Well, she might not be overjoyed about him ‘barging in’ so quickly. Regardless, he flashes her a faint smile before glancing over at the others in the room. Other than the blonde woman- something about her kinda reminds him of Milady- the obvious being of interest is the creature with a skull adorning his head.
Or is that his actual head?
Okay, he can get that answer later. What’s more important is the sheer lack of signals that people tend to have coming from this being. Every living thing usually shows slight twitches or habits that signal signs of what they are feeling- even when trained to have the ultimate poker face. Yet, they’re not tense nor at ease, the eyes are utterly steady, and that maw isn’t giving anything away. Hm, this isn’t something he usually has to deal with. At this rate the only thing he’ll have to go on is this being’s tone of voice.
Now, the woman beside him on the other hand is giving out some signals. Her body is ever so slightly tense, much like many people who can tell something is off with him, and she’s hanging onto her companion like a life line. Now, that just opens up many questions. Do they have some sort of pact? Are they actually partners? Perhaps they are actually the same person, but the being is the amalgamation of her inner demons?
Okay, he’s been playing a bit too much Persona lately.
“My apologies for ‘barging in’ like this,” Out of the corner of his eye, he can see Dani sticking her tongue out at him at his comment “But, I am the one the finalizes which Universes connect with the Mansion,” Giving a polite wave, he tucks his other hand into his black jacket’s pocket “My name is David Graves, the Founder of the Multiversal Mansion and the city beyond.” A bit fancier of a title than normal, but something about this being kinda makes him feel a tad bit more formal. “And the pleasure is likewise Mr. Ainsworth.” How odd that is, normally he doesn’t care for formalities.
Chise seemed to relax a bit hearing the formal tone this stranger now had, she was so used to hearing proper speech from Elias, it was something that soothed her a bit, told her this was still in her realm of knowing. Speaking of which, why was he always so proper, the beast beside her. He wasn’t completely human, only partly, and as such why did he stick to that faux gentleman behavior? Was it because of their location, being in England the stereotype states they are a country made up of introverted and proper individuals. Or could it be that he made up this identity to make peace with the species he is only partly part of.
A question for him later perhaps.
Elias on the other hand was pleased with the behavior the other displayed, it showed rationality and ease. The beast could very well communicate to this person before him, he could talk about a matter of things and they wouldn’t argue it seems, that was something that the creature admired. Human fallacy usually dictated that emotions claim control of action and belief, something that the magus had a distaste for. If only people looked at the world through logic they could see the true nature of everything going on about them.
If you eat a vegetable and taste that it is bitter, does not mean it isn’t good.
“It is alright, we are used to unexpected guests here at my home. They are more common then you may think. The neighbors and the spirits that roam these lands truly do not understand that a wall, door, and window means that someone else has taken up residency. We tend not to get upset over such small things, so long as you show respect for our home, and the Silver Lady, we are happy to have you.”
As he spoke about Silky she came into the room with a fresh kettle of tea and extra cups, he gestured to her. At this point she didn’t know if the party would remain this size or get larger and thus supplied more than enough for this newcomer and anyone else who may appear. “Thank you Silky.” Elias spoke, she nodded and left once more. “Although I should be the one apologizing to you since the call from your companion must have seemed so worrisome and sudden, I have no knowledge of what you were doing before you came here and thus have no place to say anything of your sudden appearance.”
