Reading Darkwing Duck The Duck Knight comic and it's really good.
The comic I believe came out 2010 2011ish but spoilers for anyone who might want to read it sometime.
* My favorite part of the comic is that it shows how much Drake loves Gosalyn. Drake loved being Darkwing. He wanted to protect the city and have the fame and recognition he thought he deserved. Darkwing was his whole life before he met Launchpad and Gosalyn. But he was willing to give all that up and only be Drake Mallard if it meant keeping his daughter safe.
*I think the comic did a good job of present day and flashbacks of what happened to make Drake give up Darkwing completely.
* Quakerjack. This is a darker version of Quackerjack then in the show and I like the direction they went with him. I've seen people question why four super villians would be afraid of Negaduck because he has no powers but the comic shows with Quackerjack that he can be just as bad as Negaduck if he's pushed hard enough. (Even Bushroot and Liqlidator were scared of him.)
*I liked the cameos of some of the other Disney Afternoon characters. (Gadget from Chip n Dale rescue rangers, Gyro,Gizmoduck, Scrooge Huey Dewey and Louie from the original Ducktales series.)
*seeing that Drake and "Elmo" Megavolt work together in the same office. Seeing Drake almost blow his cover by calling him Megavolt. And Megavolt almost realizing Drake was Darkwing but then convincing himself he was wrong.
*The reveal of the main villain and seeing why there's no more heroes or villains. I didn't expect Tauras Bulba to be the main villain but I liked the reveal.
*The expression Darkwing had at the end when Scrooge declared Launchpad CEO of the company in St. Canard instead of him.
*Negaduck while not being the main villain, is the reason for why the events of the comic happened. (Realizing who Darkwing was and attacking him in his home, resulting in Drake giving up on being Darkwing, Destroying Mr. Banana Brain and being the reason why Quackerjack become a darker villain.)
*Found it interesting that Drake gave up on Darkwing around the same time Quakerjack started becoming a darker villain.
This is just some of the stuff I liked in the comic. Reading this makes me wish Disney would adapt this into a straight to DVD/streaming service movie like DC does with their animated movies. I know some fans might be confused because it takes place in the original Darkwing show and not the 2017 Ducktales universe but I think fans of the original show would like the comic or an animated movie based on it if it's done right.
