"What are we doing here?" Sylvanas asked not for the first time as they dismounted their respective horses and hawkstriders. Though the Ghostlands were all but healed, a dark pall was still cast around Windrunner Spire, as if the land itself was still in mourning. Even the setting sun was dim and gray.

"There's someone here you should see." Lillithana said brightly, patting her crimson hawkstrider affectionately as she tied him to one of the posts by the front.

"Who?" Veressa asked but Lillithana just gave her a small smile, heading up to the front steps and leaving them to follow.

"Is there a squatter?" Alleria asked, an edge to her voice. "Arator--"

"Don't look at me." He said, "I don't know what going on." Music drifted through the still air as she pushed open the front doors, a gentle tune that made the sisters stop.

"What..." Vereesa started.

"Lirath!" Lillithana called out, making the sisters' attention snap to her, "I've brought some people to see you!"

"Lirath?" Sylvanas asked, "But--"

"Sisters!" The joyous proclamation made them look towards the stairs, the spectre walking, almost running, down them soundlessly. "Lilli! You brought them!"

"I said I would, didn't I?" She asked, "And you kept up your end. Filling the Spire with music until they came home."

"I'm sure your task was more difficult than mine." Lirath said but she waved it away.

"Lirath." Alleria breathed, "Have you...been here this whole time?"

"I have." He said with a nod, "Lilli calmed the spirits of this place, brought peace back to our home."

"Oh, before I forget." Lillithana said and took her bag off her back, setting it on the ground and kneeling so she could rifle through it. "Here it is." She removed a silver bell from the depths, barely bigger than her hand and stood, going to Lirath who watched her curiously.

"Wait, that's--" Sylvanas started but it was cut off as a clear note rang through the Spire when the bell was struck. The effect was instant, his ghostly form vanishing, replaced by one of flesh and blood.

"Ha!" He exclaimed, looking at himself. "How--"

"Gift from a friend." She said with a shrug.

"The Kyrian of Bastion." Sylvanas said, "That's a Resonance Bell. Gives forms to the formless."

"It's not permanent." Lillithana said as she went back to her bag. "It will wear off come dawn."

"Which is why you wanted us here right at sunset." Alleria said.

"Give you as much time as possible." She said, "Well? Hug your brother." Vereesa was the first to move, running to him and pulling him into her arms in a tight embrace that he returned. Alleria was next, going to him and touching the side of his face gently. Sylvanas stayed back and they looked at her.

"Sylvanas." Lirath said, "Come here." She approached him almost cautiously, Vereesa moving aside while wiping the tears from her eyes. They stared at each other a moment before Lirath stepped into her, pulling her into a gentle hug. She did nothing at first, but then seemed to deflate, her arms coming around him. Softly at first, hesitantly, before they tightened, her hand going to the back of his head.

"Thank you, Champion." She whispered.

"Yes, thank you, Lillithana." Vereesa said.

"Thank you, my friend." Alleria said.

"Who is this?" Lirath said, managing to pull away from Sylvanas, though he kept a hand on her shoulder, as he looked at Arator.

"Um...I'm--I'm Arator." He said, and with a nod from his mother, "Arator Windrunner."

"Arator Windrunner." Lirath said and he nodded. "Who--?"

"He's my son." Alleria said and Lirath looked at her quickly before a pleased, if a bit surprised, huff of a laugh left him.

"I have a nephew!" He said and she nodded.

"I've--I've heard about you...Uncle Lirath."

"Uncle Lirath." He said, "That'll take some getting used to."

"I'll be out front." Lillithana said, "Give you all some privacy."

"What?" Arator asked, turning towards her, "You're leaving?"

"I'll just be outside." Lillithana said, "I won't be far. Besides, this is a Windrunner family thing and I'm not--" Her words were cut off as he kissed her quickly, pulling her against him with a hand at her low back. Her eyes closed as she leaned into him, her hand coming up to touch the side of his neck gently and he broke the kiss to look down at her. "I--"

"You're family." Arator said, "And we wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for you."

"We'll be talking about that later." Alleria said.

"See?" Arator said, "She didn't try to kill you."

I've noticed something really interesting particularly in a potential spoiler for Midnight but in Sylvanas's dialogue- you can tell which "half of the soul" is speaking. The ranger general is all sentimental and pragmatic but the banshee queen is rather stern and kind of like a military general in a way. The break in this spoiler is a spoiler for Midnight, if you do not wish to be spoiled for Midnight currently, avert ye eyes.

What I'm getting at from analyzing moments specifically after shadowlands and more so in the video below- when she speaks- you can pin point which part of her soul is speaking which I really love that detail! And yes- I am aware both halves merged but it's still interesting to see how it's not all just one complete soul but two in one for Sylvanas.

I am a stickler for detail, personally. And the more detail is paid attention to-- the more a person's work or character is going to greatly interest me.

Now, there is a particular soul within the video that mentions Derek specifically. At first, I thought this Daelin but after some thinking and going back to other cinematics, this could be Thomas Zelling and it would makes sense! He wasn't necessarily killed directly by Sylvanas in the small ingame cinematic we got which showed Baine's sentencing but we do know he was a Tidesage loyal to Kul'tirias and in turn--- loyal to House Proudmoore most likely. Besides, we haven't heard ANYTHING about Zelling since his second demise at the start of BFA.

If you are like me- a person who does not mind spoilers, please look at the video. I have always been a sucker for the Windrunner family and when a certain Windrunner visits her in the Maw, she actually mistakes them for Lirath which I find heartwarming because we know how much Sylvanas cared for Lirath as evident in the Sylvanas Novel and it's very likely he will be appearing in the Windrunner Spire dungeon.

This has been your resident overthinking lore nerd and now I am going to make chicken soup because I am still not 100% better yet. I'd like to hear your thoughts weither it be for a copper, silver or gold.. also I feel like my brain just died when Alleria said "Xalatath will take nothing more from me!"

Let it be known, these are theories as I do not have access to midnight via preorder.

And I really like that moment where Arator literally compares Alleria to Sylvans TO HER FACE, at that. It's nice to know he inherited that Windrunner stubbornness and tongue that doesn't hold back. Also what did Alleria mean when she said "Xalatath will take nothing more from me." Ugh... the fucking grammar! Even I can tell that is NOT a correct sentence to use. The stickler for grammar in me officially goddamn triggered. Must... not... CRINGE!

And girl for ONE FUCKING expansion can you NOT obsess over your clearly buried romantic feelings for our favorite harbinger? It's almost like it's flattery at this point (and here I go assuming my Xalatath roleplay muse...)

I'm probably going to spammed with all the possible hate for whatever bullshit name people come up with for their concept of them as a couple or some shit. I mean, it can have potential in a fanfiction kind of way. It's almost like that's just her core personality now apart from brooding neglecting mother to her son who became an heavy metal elf.

What else did Xalatath take? (besides her possible first as... *ahem* her... farstrider vow.... or did the Mauler take that? (I know the answer but I was trying to make a joke... A very bad at that--- no one will probably laugh at.)

Did Xalatath further the potential divide between Turaylon and Alleria? Oh my goth... this video is giving vibes that N'zoth's vision for Alleria will come to pass possibly in this expansion. But didn't Xalatath also give her a vision of her turning into void and her possible demise? I haven't done Argus in so goddamn long.

I personally think it would be interesting if that vision- mostly the one from Xalatath was to come to pass because I see that being more plausible compared to the horrific visions version. The same case is the horde one for Thrall.

Now these are just mainly theories because I do not have access to beta.

I think a lot about the scene in the book where lirath confronts Sylvanas for ignoring him and asks her if she even cares or if she’s forgetting him and she gets so overwhelmed with emotions and her own inability to explain herself to Lirath, wanting to tell him how much she loves him and how much he changed her life, but also wanting to be mad and angry and she wants to hurt him as much as break down and love him and so she just fucking SPRINTS AWAY FROM HIM it’s SO FUNNY
