i want to make regular sprites and joy monster sprites for my Lisa oc, any tips on how you made your charater sprites? they look so good!

more shit under cut bc itll get long probably

ill mostly focus on joy monsters bc fuck so i usually have one open for reference (usually buzzo for no particular reason) to keep a good size and get the colors as close so like? 

just like the basic shape of it all

have the outside line art thicker than the inside lines 

anyway like,, make em all wrinkly and nasty right

and then the base colors and shading are pretty simple (veins are completely optional since not all joy monsters have em
