Okay, I'll be completely honest here. I heard this song playing in Forever 21 and whipped out my "shazam" app because it was just so cool. This is one instance where I've actually liked a remix better than the original, although the rest of CHVRCHES' stuff is pretty awesome too. This song - its quick beats combined with its cool lyrics - is great for working out or just for motivation in general!

I can't stop listening to Air Traffic Controller! Their songs are mostly upbeat and almost alternative, with just a hint of electronic hidden in the background. (Their sound could be compared to bands like Phoenix.)
I absolutely adore their album "Nordo" which this is from, and if you want to try other songs from them I'd suggest "If You Build It," "Pick Me Up," and "Magic." (That last one has an almost eerie sound, it's really cool!) But I'd honestly suggest anything by them!

Hey guys! It's been a while! I wanted to return to share with you a song I just found this morning and have absolutely fallen in love with. It sounds best with headphones and the bass turned up high!
SBTRKT is Aaron Jerome, a DJ from London. His sound can best be described as intense electronic, but not hard enough to be considered dubstep. I've listened to some of his other stuff as well, and he's fantastic at creating songs with a clean beat that keeps your mind feeling fresh paired with a bass that moves your soul.
The voice you hear is "Sampha" - SBTRKT often has featured artists to provide vocals. If you're into this kind of music I suggest looking into the rest of his songs right away!
Lish's post of the week: The Bay by Metronomy
This song is a bit less electronic than the others I've posted, but that doesn't mean I love it any less. Metronomy is a "dance-meets-rock" group from London first started in 1990. It took me a few tries to get into, but the clean and catchy beat finally hooked me. It also has a unique tune that's hard to get our of your head! Metronomy does many other cool songs too, I would start with "A Thing For Me."
Lish's post of the Week: Fortune Days by The Glitch Mob
I wanted to start off this section of the blog with one of my very favorite groups. Because I could never choose my favorite song by The Glitch Mob, I decided to share the song that made me fall in love with them in the first place. They are an electronic group of four that came out of L. A. This song is upbeat, yet not annoyingly "peppy," Perfect workout music if you ask me! If you want to check them out further, I recommend the rest of their "Drink the Sea" album, particularly the songs "We Swarm" and "Drive it Like You Stole it."
