⚡️ David Bowie Outfit Appreciation ⚡️
I actually heard this song on Orange is the New Black and immediately thought it was epic. It has a great beat that combines nicely with Willis Earl Beal’s vocals creating a haunting piece of music.
Folk Friday
Sorry it has been a while since I last posted. This song has been a favorite of mine for the past couple of weeks. This is a great folk song and it contains an excellent banjo melody.
This song was recently suggested to me by a friend and I have to say I am immensely happy that they did. This song is like an orgasm for the ears. It has a beautiful full instrumental backing that directly compliments the backup chorus and Sufjan Stevens own intimate sound.
New Folk Friday!
So I recently started a folk radio station at my school called Don't Folk with me and have decided that I will post the best of what I play there on here every Friday.
This first post is Untitled by Seryn a song I absolutely adore, because it cuts straight through the whole indie folk genre, to a much older folk sound, which in recent releases in the folk genre is a rare commodity. And even though I love indie folk as well it is very refreshing to hear something with a different composition like this.
This project is the most interesting combination of sounds I have heard in a long time. The shake up in music genres and cultures combines British folk artists Mumford & Sons and Laura Marling with traditional Rajasthani musicians the Dharohar Project. This whole project is amazing and I really hope that there are more interesting mixes and combinations of genres and artists like this in the future.
I originally found this band at Bonnaroo and was astounded by there amazing showmanship. However, I have discovered upon further investigation that The Flaming Lips are so much more and you can always be sure that their songs will have interesting beats and melodies.
Fun. has really outdone themselves with this song. This song really has an awesome dancing tune to it. Not only that, but it really has an interesting message to it.
Listen to this unique song that balances a soft poignant sound with a truly evocative chorus.
I absolutely dig this cover, it’s a very nice, distinct twist on the original disco song Stayin’ Alive.
I have always thought that this is just such a sexy song. Alt-J has really outdone themselves with this one.
The guitar in this song kills it.
Ghost by Sir Sly
Gritty but soothing. Trust me on this one.

Okay, I'll be completely honest here. I heard this song playing in Forever 21 and whipped out my "shazam" app because it was just so cool. This is one instance where I've actually liked a remix better than the original, although the rest of CHVRCHES' stuff is pretty awesome too. This song - its quick beats combined with its cool lyrics - is great for working out or just for motivation in general!
