The hoops I have to jump through to go to uni are unreal. I clearly fucked up by finishing at community college this year of all years.

Uni needs my HS transcript sent to them by August 1st to prove I’ve taken a second language. A cakewalk.

First there was a bit of confusion because my HS technically doesn’t exist anymore since it was absorbed by another school, but I was assured by a former teacher that when they absorbed our HS, they also absorbed all former student records. Okay, cool.

I sent them an email via their contact form on their website back in late-June. 2-3 weeks later, no reply, so I call them. Straight to machine. They’re closed due to the pandemic. Cool cool cool.

So I email the admissions advisor at Uni asking for an extension on the deadline. Surely they don’t need proof of a second language so long as I don’t try to take like Spanish 3 or whatever. 2 weeks later, she replies with a big ol’ “Nope” but tells me that if I email my HS counselor and ask her to email the admissions advisor my transcript directly, she’ll count it as valid. Awesome, easy enough.

Go back to the HS website to find this counselor’s email. “Due to numerous cyber attacks, we took down all staff contact information. Please use tools you only have access to as a student/parent of a student to contact staff.”

Okay, cool. Amazing. I love it. So thankfully, I’m still in contact with one of my old teachers who actually still works there, as he is a fellow Gamer™. Hopefully he’s able to give me her email cause honestly, if he’s not, my last-ditch attempt will be messaging her on fucking LinkedIn.
