Lyra: *saves Lord Asriels life*
Lord Asriel:
God as much as I was raised to hate the british I am glad I grew up in Edinburgh cos I spend a chunk of my year in fucking Leitrim of all places and I'm not really joking when I say I might genuinely be the only gay in the entire county (also i've never lived there but my dad's family is from mayo so yknow solidarity)
seriously the situation is dire like ive dated one girl from home and she was 3 years older than me and left to go to australia so like country gays dont exist
Okay what about sergleicious??? ....I'll show myself out
ok that’s a big contender though. i actually have three or four URLs now that i’ve taken while i figure out which one i wanna actually use
On loves light wings is honesty so cute and good and I like that it's kind of pure fluff and happiness, because most snowbaz fics tend to have some kind of angst. It's nice to have a break. Also I relate to the "penny gasps" moment a lot ❤❤❤
I totally relate, sometimes I just want to read fluff too. I wasn’t sure how to make Simon tell her about Baz so yeah that happened XD
this 'gay moment' shit has kind of ruined Beauty and the beast for me (lol I sound like a straight. I never expected a Disney film from the 90's to give me representation, which is shitty but I can live with it. In 2017, some shitty comic relief villain who is completely insignificant to the story, that no one can look up to and doesn't have a happy ending just makes me mad. Disney is patting itself on the back for nothing. If anything they are furthering this idea that queer people are a joke.
Honestly while I’m up for representation, I honestly wished this film never attempted to put in gay representation because it feels like a hamfisted attempt at modernising a film for the 2010s audience and trying to score points with white liberals.... which unfortunately seems to be working.
Like if they weren’t willing to outright make a good guy gay, then don’t bother giving us the shittiest, least liked, bumbling side character played by a mediocre white straight man and trying to change the character to be semi redeemable AFTER he assists the villain in sexually harassing Belle and helping Gaston commit murder.
I think Dafne Keen was a really good choice for Lyra but I feel like TV Lyra isca lot more civilised and polite than book Lyra. I know they aren't very important plotwise, but I miss the scenes of Lyra in battle with the gyptains and the other children of Oxford and her adamantly refusing a bath. I just wish she was little more fierce and proud and savage
Please can we all band together and collectively cyberbully Julien Solomita to make a video where he dresses up like the newest Monster Factory monster
Gilbert: All women are QUEENS!
Billy: If she breathes she's a THOT!
