dude im not even a huge cactus/succulent guy and ive never gotten over lithops. absolutely unfathomable that they grow by shirking off their old asscheeks like this. like yes hypothetically theyre supposed to look like rocks in the ground but god what a twist of fate. just look at them. the old asscheeks wither first and everything

Lithops salicola

We do not grow Lithops in the ground at the Ruth Bancroft Garden, since most of them want a dry resting period in winter, and this is when our rainy season comes along. But with a roof over their head, they can grow quite happily, and even make a wonderful show of flowers in the fall, as our Lithops salicola is doing. It is native to an arid area of central South Africa, along the border between Northern Cape Province and the Orange Free State.

[ID: Drawings of Roe (it/its), an anthro cat with fish traits. It is a brown tabby, and has barbel-like whiskers, scales in its ears, and a golden-brown (cake) fish tail.

The first image is the reference sheet, demonstrating its construction, limited expressions, and pajama wardrobe.
