LITERATURE SERIES: Jane Austen
“The person, be it gentleman or lady, who has not pleasure in a good novel, must be intolerably stupid.” ― Jane Austen
"I can’t expect someone else to make me feel complete; I must find it on my own. And I think I was always writing for myself, to sort through my loss and worry and tangled ambitions. Even now, I think about how effortless it is to lose oneself in words, and yet also find who you are." - Divine Rivals
Faudet's Dirty Pretty Things
Girls are dirty things. They use everything they have to make you do anything they want. They know what to say and how to say it to guarantee they get their way. Girls play dirty.
Girls are pretty things. Their hair encircles their faces like the marriage between halos and horns. Their eyes are so dark and deep that they conceal the greatest secrets of the universe. Girls look pretty.
But, Girls are also terrible things. Capable of salvation and damnation. Soft gasps when excited and loud groans when enraged. Tender carresses in the early hours of the morning and powerful grips late at night. Girls can be terrible.
Most of all, Girls are not things at all, Girls are not sexed up, dick sucking machines. Girls are Girls. Invaluable and lovely. They are the shapes of powerful trees and immovable mountains. They are part wolf, part snake, part phoenix. Girls have brains that are capable of ruling nations and hearts that are capable of saving them. Girls have talents and know how to use them. Girls are artists, poets, builders, breakers. Girls can be soft and sweet but equally harsh and unyielding. Girls are women. And women are conquerors.
LITERATURE SERIES: Vampires
“Death is the one predator we can't escape. But vampires have found the loophole so many of us crave. I think that's the allure of vampirism.” ― Sherrilyn Kenyon
LITERATURE SERIES: J.R.R Tolkien
“The prime motive was the desire of a tale-teller to try his hand at a really long story that would hold the attention of readers, amuse them, delight them, and at times maybe excite them or deeply move them.” —J.R.R Tolkien, 1966
LITERATURE SERIES: Dystopia
“Always, at every moment, there will be the thrill of victory, the sensation of trampling on an enemy who is helpless. If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face — for ever… And remember that it is for ever. The face will always be there to be stamped upon." ― George Orwell (1984)
LITERATURE SERIES: Edgar Allan Poe
“The boundaries which divide Life from Death are at best shadowy and vague. Who shall say where the one ends, and where the other begins?" ― Edgar Allan Poe
LITERATURE SERIES: Classic Horror
“The horror genre never dies. It just keeps getting reinvented and it always will. Horror is a universal language; we're all afraid. We're born afraid, we're all afraid of things: death, disfigurement, loss of a loved one. Everything that I'm afraid of, you're afraid of and vice versa. So everybody feels fear and suspense.” —John Carpenter
