The Stand (ep. 9)
A double favourite books commission (I’m assuming bought for 2 different people). I really like that Clan of the Cave Bear cover!
The Stand has become the most requested book of late- I would have included it in my top ten in the past but I wonder if I’ll read it again. We listened to the audiobook on a road trip in Canada a few years ago and ended up turning it off because the grimness was a bit much. I think I had a much bigger appetite for nihilism in fiction in my 20s. I’m interested in that new book that’s all different stories by other authors set in the same world though.
