Caregiver Bellatrix Headcanons

She meets you through Narcissa as you’re the child of an old Malfoy family friend. She doesn’t discover you’re an age regressor until the echoing of Malfoy Manor during a thunderstorm terrifies you and you regress. She has keen hearing and found you slipped and terrified in the guest room and awkwardly helped you.

She’s not a completely natural caregiver in the traditional sense. She has to work on being soft with you and not scary. She puts a lot of work into making sure that at the end of the day you feel safe with her no matter what.

She uses nicknames such as ‘baby’ and ‘little one’ in a way that is almost condescending but ultimately just makes you feel extremely small. Definitely one of those caregivers who will see you doing something and go ‘oh no you’re too little for that’

Both her and Narcissa overuse the nicknames ‘darling’ and ‘love’ as they tend to see most nicknames as cliché or ill fitting. They’ll both use sweetheart but rarely sweetie.

Insists on having a necklace or bracelet that says ‘B’ for Black family and you never take it off.

Whether you’re a slytherin or not you end up with a lot of green comfort items whether it’s blankets or bath bombs or teethers. 

She enjoys furthering your magical knowledge and insists you have lessons from her to further everything you learned in Hogwarts. Her favorite to teach is potions whether you’re big or little. She enjoys holding you as you put potions in and stir the cauldron. Or teaching you how to make certain potions with certain colors.

Chaos caregiver. But also very protective (bordering on possessive at times). She regularly manages to put you into danger without realizing but then if you get hurt she’s fussing immediately and confining you to your bed. 

There is a pet snake with someone in Malfoy Manor/Black House and usually it is with Bellatrix. There are times where you’re scared of it and she’ll take it off and it’ll slither off. But she’ll also let you hold it around your neck or wrap it around your arm.

She cannot cook for the life of her but if you enjoy it she’ll secretly learn from the house selves and then cook with you. Things regularly turn out burnt at first which thankfully makes you laugh but you end up relying on the house elves a lot.

Routines are her enemy. If you wake up at 4:00 am and want to go outside and do a bonfire she’s already making sure you have a sweater on and lighting the fire. 

When she does have to leave you she leaves you with Narcissa which is like living in an alternate universe than being Bellatrix’s little. Draco and you usually play together until Bellatrix returns while Narcissa supervises.

Self Indulgent

Info: This is a self indulgent mini oneshot with Caregiver Bellatrix, Caregiver Narcissa, Little Draco, & Little Reader

The Black Manor was oddly quiet. The normal sounds of Draco or you playing or running around were nonexistent. Narcissa and Bellatrix were sitting in one of the many studies. The only sounds were the clicking of Narcissas knitting needles; a hobby Bellatrix consistently teased her over. Meanwhile Bellatrix was flipping through an old slightly worn down book. The near silence was shattered by 2 pops, the familiar sound of apparition.

Bellatrix glanced up dragging her black nail across the page assuming it to be a house elf. Her eyes narrowed with immediate concern as she saw you with large tear stains on your cheeks. Draco was standing there too, wiping his nose with a few stray tears on his face. Narcissa stands up immediately rushing to Draco. Bellatrix is up too but you rush over to her “Bella” you say with a sniffle rubbing your face. “Oh darling” she murmured using her thumbs to rub your tear streaks away. Draco was sitting with Narcissa, not speaking, simply buried into her playing with some blocks. 

“What happened darling?” Bellatrix asked and you sniffled again climbing onto her lap. “Draco got lost in diagon alley n I got scared n was lookin for him n I ended up in knockturn alley n scary people kept talking me”  you explain and take a shuddering breath “then when we did get together we went to bookstore n I got the wrong book and had returns and get the right one n I think everyone thought I was stupid!” You whine rubbing your eyes more furiously. Bellatrix tugged your hands away “shh shh darling” she murmured kissing your forehead. “I am so so sorry you and Draco got separated and the people in knockturn alley scared you.” She said stroking your hair as you trembled. “And no one thought you were dumb love I promise. Everyone makes mistakes and you must’ve been pretty shaken up from before right?” She questioned.

You nodded reluctantly “so you aren’t stupid right darling?” She asked firmly and you nod slowly “yes mo-Bella” you correct quickly wanting her to think you’re a big girl. She chuckled softly and held you protectively in her lap “you can be as little as you want love” she murmured and you nod again. Narcissa had successfully gotten Draco to return to somewhat normal and she and Bellatrix exchanged a glance. “Loves from now on no more visits while you’re by yourself okay?” Narcissa said firmly to both you and Draco. Your lower lip jutted out while Draco scowled “but mama! It’s not our fault! I’ll be big n I’ll take care her too I promise!” He said looking up at her with an indignant expression.

“Aunt Cissy!” You whine as well “we’ll stick together good next time!! We pomise!!” You turn to Bellatrix hoping to get her on your side with pleading eyes. She shakes her head stroking your hair. Narcissas face is stern even if her lips twitch a little bit at your whining. “Loves just for a while. To keep you both safe, understand?” Narcissa murmurs and you nod with a huff. Draco scowls at her and continues to whine but one look from Narcissa and he’s falling quiet uttering an apology. “You and I will go more through why this is necessary later” She promises him kissing his blonde hair.

You both look exhausted and Bellatrix laughs softly “observatory time” she says scooping you up and Draco walks next to Narcissa grabbing her hand. You’re both taken to the observatory which is enchanted to show the constellations at any time of day. Narcissa accios both of your blankets and Bellatrix wraps you in yours. The blanket is warm and is green speckled with silver and purple stars. You snuggle into her lap and Draco has his draped over himself as he leans against narcissas side. The sisters talk quietly while you both stare up at the observatory as the stars magically shift to show different designs. After a long harrowing  trip this is exactly what you had needed.
