If they ever did have a tiny mutant ninja assassin…
Possible head canon:
One of the reasons Deeks grows his hair long and is so resistant to cutting it, particularly when its suggested by an authority figure, is because of his father. When he was 6 or 7, Gordon insisted that he needed a haircut even though it wasn’t particularly long. Roberta couldn’t bare to cut off his blonde curls and begged Gordon not to do it. Little Deeks didn’t want to either, but he’d learned by then it wasn’t a good idea to make his dad mad if he didn’t have to. He has a vibrant memory of sitting on a kitchen chair while his dad buzzed his hair, muttering about how he was a dirty hippy, just like his mom.
Been failing at writing again...
but I’m over 300 words today! That’s pretty impressive for me lately.
This story is just playing on difficult topics and it’s making it hard to be in the right headspace for writing it. =/
I feel like they would only get fast food on rare occasions but could you guys imagine Kensi doing this. 😂😂
Let’s play this game again. 😂 This is the only layout that looks good with these colors. So this is my guess for end product.
1, but here's the kicker - DEEKS is the one in the skirt! 😂😂
Deeks reaches for the hem, trying to pull the article of clothing further down to cover his muscular thighs. “Aw, come on, Princess. Do I really need to wear this?”
She looks on as he walks out of the bathroom and into her room. Her grin a spitting image of her mother’s. “Yes, daddy. The skirt is supposed to be this short. You promised.”
Kensi watches on, trying to hold in a laugh at the sight of her husband in a short mini skirt and kitten heels. “You did promise her, babe.”
“In my defense she wasn’t suppose to be able to ride 10 waves in a row.”
The tall brunette walks up to her husband, her fingers playing with the hem of his skirt. A smile spreads to her face at his clear discomfort. “Nice legs.”
He rolls his eyes at his wife’s enjoyment of the situation.
“Come on, hubby, you’re gonna be late for the party.” Kensi says before turning out of the doorway and making her way to the other side of the house.
The tiny brunette grabs her father’s hand, pulling him into the direction of the backyard where her uncles currently reside. “Yes, daddy, Uncle Callen and Uncle Sam said they couldn’t wait to see you!”
The shaggy blonde begrudgingly follows his little girl through the living room and out the sliding glass doors into the backyard.
As soon as his heels hit the paved porch there’s a long slow whistle radiating from the outdoor kitchen where his former colleagues are standing with his wife. The two men are clearly trying to hold back a laugh.
“Nice legs, Marty. Or should I say Martina?”
“Don’t....be jealous.” Deeks begins to strut towards his wife as if he were walking the cat walk. As long as he has to do this, he might as well have some fun with it.
Kensi smiles as he reaches her and then pops a hip out, striking a pose. He may be a dork but he’s her dork. Standing up on her tip toes she places her lips to his scruffy jaw. “I think you look beautiful, baby.”
Callen rolls his eyes at the pair’s antics. “You two make me sick.”
The husband and wife duo lock eyes, a set of pearly whites mirroring the other. “Yeah, we know.”
And then they do it! (Am I the only one that read over that?)
Almost there.
Because sometimes @mashmaiden’s ideas get added to my pile.
XXXX
“Alright, Little K. Let’s see what you got.”
She smiles at her 10 month old goddaughter as she mirrors her and gets in the beginners push up position. Keeping her eyes on the little one, they both go down to the floor and back up again. “One.”
The little girl repeats. “Un.”
“Two.”
“Ooh.”
Not to her surprise, Kensi’s body gives out after only two. She flips over, laying flat on her back, watching the little girl as she tries to do one more.
When the dirty blonde haired girl sees her aunt laying down, she crawls over to her, patting her face to get up. “Kenny.”
“Sorry squirt, Auntie Kensi is beat. Your little cousin is taking it out of me.” She rubs a hand over her protruding belly where her little guy is kicking up a storm.
The little girl points to her belly. “Baby.”
“That’s right a baby.”
“Ninja.”
Her jaw drops in shock. “You’ve been spending too much time with your Uncle Marty, kid.”
“What can I say? Chicks dig me.” Kensi turns her head at the sound of her husband’s voice.
“How long have you guys been standing there?” She doesn’t make a move to get up and just lays there, looking at the three agents.
“Since you got down there.” Nell smiles as she takes in her very pregnant friend laying on the floor.
“Hey, Kens, I think you should wait and try to train my daughter to become the next Wonder Woman until she’s at least one. Let her enjoy her life a little.”
“Beale, your daughter is 10 months old and can already do more push-ups than you.” The extra bite in her voice doesn’t go unnoticed.
“Meow.” Deeks purrs at his wife. Her feistiness has reared its ugly head more and more lately.
She takes a calming breath, damn these hormones. “Sorry. I just….forget it. How was work?”
“Caught the bad guy. How was staying at home all day?”
Deeks finally moves to help his wife up off the floor. “Well, I had this little one to keep me company at the zoo, so I’d say it was a good day.”
Nell reaches down as her daughter comes up to her. “Hey, baby, did you have fun with your Aunt Kensi?”
“Kenny!” The little girl points to the tall brunette, making everyone laugh.
“Alright, well we better go. We’ve got dinner plans with Sydney tonight. Apparently she has a new boyfriend.” Nell rolls her eyes. She loves her sister, but her taste in men is abysmal.
Kensi walks up to Nell, giving her a hug and places a kiss to her goddaughter’s cheek. “Bye, Kensi. See you tomorrow, okay?”
“Tay.” The little girl mimics her Aunt by placing a kiss on her cheek.
“Bye, squirt.” Deeks takes his turn, sharing a fist bump with the little girl.
XXXX
“Bye, guys.” They watch from the porch as the Beale family pulls out of the driveway, waving goodbye.
Deeks turns to his wife, knowing just what she needs. “How about we go for a walk?”
“That sounds amazing.” She’s only been on maternity leave for two weeks, but not seeing him all day makes her miss him even more.
They walk back inside so they can change. He walks back in the living room as he’s putting on his t-shirt and stops when he sees her just sitting there, staring at her shoes.
“Here let me get that.” Crouching down, he grabs her shoe and places her foot inside and repeats the same process with the other foot.
“How much longer?”
He gives a sad smile to his very miserable looking, pregnant wife. “Just a few more weeks, baby.” Pulling her up, he places a kiss to her lips. “You’re gonna be an amazing mom.”
“How can you be so sure?”
“Look at the way you’ve bonded with little Kensi and she’s not even your kid.”
Then it hits her. “You did that on purpose.”
A clueless look crosses his face but he knows she won’t buy it. “Did what?”
“Arranged for me to look after Kensi until I have the baby.” She sends him a glare, but can’t help the smile that crosses her face.
He places his hand over his chest shocked at the accusation. “I would never.”
Shaking her head, she laughs when his voice does that high pitched squeal when he tries to lie to her. She leans forward and places a tender kiss to his lips. “Thank you, baby.”
His forehead touches hers as they lock eyes. Wrapping his arms around her waist the happiness that reflect in their eyes is only a glimmer of how they’re feeling. “You’re most definitely welcome, my love.”
