13: Do they have any favourite foods? Would they eat it all the time if they had the chance? What do they hate to eat?
everyone loves to ask me what raein likes to eat because i never make any solid indications of what he does and doesn’t like to eat. that’s because raein is an annoying fucking muse and he has a million sensory THINGS around food/taste and he won’t tell me, i don’t even know, does he even eat at all, maybe he survives on IV drips because he doesnt have to TASTE THEM
gbjkdfbsjkf the best i can tell you is, surprisingly, the more intense the food is the more likely he is to do well with it. i’m almost at this point willing to call it some kind of autistic hyposensitive taste situation where, like, anything that doesn’t cut above his extremely high taste-resistant threshold tastes either bland or DISGUSTING and he proceeds to have conniption fits.
so REALLY flavorful things, REALLY sweet things—or things with strong textures of some kind! gravelly rubs on meat (he can adore the outside of a steak and LOATHE the inside of it 100% because of the texture difference), really crunchy apples or grapes, stuff like that! REALLY HOT DRINKS are also a good bet. room temp or cold drinks are mostly wasted on him i think. (he’s a traitor, i tell you, warm drinks are disgusting.)
ASSORTMENTS OF DICED FOOD ARE A REALLY GOOD IDEA WITH HIM I THINK he’s done well in response to kebobs full of small cuts of meat and vegetables, would probably do just as well with complicated salads, soups, anything like that. i mean of course it still has to TASTE decent but if it’s intense there’s a better shot he’ll like it?
this is all fucking theory mind you i have no idea i’ve been trying to pin down raein’s tastes for over a year now. basically: if you know he’s liked something in the past keep him in survivable supply of it because you might never be able to feed him anything else ever in your lifetime
17: Do they have any guilty pleasures? They embarrassed about them? Do they flaunt them?
the mana crystals are gone as of early-mid wod but i’ll still jump to mention them at every scarce opportunity thank u
i would actually say being reckless or otherwise just doing the Not Approved Of Thing probably falls into this category??? raein is in an ever-constant state of trying to do the Correct Thing to the point that he can and will and does freeze up trying to discern what that Correct Thing is. simultaneously he has ALWAYS been drawn to people who don’t seem to care for getting it Correct, who dive right into adventures or actively scorn authoritative forces or what-have-you.
he showed clear signs of this when he was about 10-15, but it really formed once he got out of outland. a lot of the pick-up groups he healed for in northrend were gruff, ragtag, CHAOTIC parties, and while it wasn’t really a conscious thought of “i’m going to do this extremely dangerous thing specifically because it’s extremely dangerous”, there’s still probably a lot of underlying mental shenanigans happening there. people who aren’t afraid of getting it Correct are the kind of people he wants to be, if a definitively GOOD version of that, where regardless of what the rules are or who’s in charge he’s only doing what’s right.
he’s also very, very, very incredibly stupidly bad at it, but that’s another issue completely.
19: Have they ever been injured? Sick? How do they deal with it?
RIKKE by virtue of her whole entire life has been injured LOTS. minor stuff, mostly—she was a Very Very Reckless Kid and also strong as an ox even back then, so she and her brother bjarke NO DOUBT did all kinds of stupid things. fell out of a few trees, off a few walls, down a few hills. lots of breaks and sprains. tough kids.
and ever since the third war, rikke’s been a pretty busy soldier in one regard or another. trained as a paladin initiate prior to said war, she was pretty strong and helped a lot around the makeshift settlement of would-be theramore in its construction and upkeep before sailing back across the sea to live in stormwind, where she enlisted in their military. one of the more specific injuries i can think of is that time in the temple of the white tiger when everything went to shit. also that other time after the siege of orgrimmar.
as far as catching colds go, though, she tries generally to ignore them and of course fails spectacularly because powering through colds SUCKS. so someone inevitably has to throw her onto the nearest flat, comfortable surface and sit on her. preferably with three to five friends. and ear plugs, because she will bitch and moan The Entire Time.
