did you end up seeing Titus Andronicus? did you like it? it is, ah. quite the play

I haven't seen it yet! I'm going in March!

It should be very interesting, because it's at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse (which is the Jacobean theatre round the back of the Globe), so the whole thing has no electric lighting and is done by candlelight. Also, it is an all female production... so I am very intrigued!

I will be sure to let you know what I think once I see it :)

While I’m here baring my writerly soul, I also wish I’d ended It’s weird and it’s wonderful, dear differently, too. That was another one that started as a sort of meme/ask response and I wish I’d worked on the ending a little more to round it out.

okay I KNOW I’ve reblogged an ask meme from you prior but I didn’t tag it like a fool, so I’m going with the questions from the last tagged one I reblogged from you...if you meant the other one lmk and i will hunt it down

1. Describe your comfort zone—a typical you-fic.

Angst and lots of repetition and metaphors and semi-pretty writing that talks a lot yet says so little.

5. Share one of your strengths.

Going with the above, I think I’m good at bringing things that may not have meant much at the time back, and making them mean more - if that makes sense?

I’m unable to sleep(thanks steroid pills. JFC I love you and hate you all at the same time)so I’m working on my fic for @acanofpeaches for @fightbackfic and let me tell you I am enjoying it. This is also for @littledeconstruction because it’s her fault I even thought about a Hamburr logging AU.

What I love about writing this is I get to pull from my life. My grandfather started a logging business with his brother after they both came home from WWII(he and six of his brothers all fought and all came home. I know how amazing that is and I am eternally grateful). He and his brother literally started with a chainsaw and a donkey they used to haul logs to their truck. Now my dad and his brother run it. I grew up around the business and I picked up a lot. So this fic is not only my first real foray into Hamburr it’s my attempt to showcase my life growing up.

For those interested: Yes I can run a chainsaw(a small one. Not the large Stihl that Alex has in the story which is my dad’s preferred brand) and I can even drive a log truck loaded with logs(it’s HARD for someone as short as me ok)but I also can drive a skidder, a backhoe, a skid steer(a small machine with a large bucket on the front), and a loader.

So. I am enjoying this immensely. So thanks to Peaches and Jane for encouraging this. 😘😘
