These are some of my favourite photos. They are taken in Venice 6 years apart. The first visit was the first part of our honeymoon. This is one of my favourite memories. We ordered pizza, picked up some olives and a bottle of red wine and sat by the canal watching the world go by. We had absolutely no idea what our future held! 6 years later we returned with Aimee age 4 and Daniel age 2 to the exact same spot! I actually cried it was such a lovely overwhelming moment. This memory popped into my head when I was dishing up our dinner - pasta bolognaise! Gone were the Ikea plates and child spoons and forks, gone we’re the tippee cups and plastic beakers. Replaced with pasta bowls and adult forks and spoons, replaced with glasses. Stinky and Teddy weren’t joining us this evening either. I looked around, no bibs, bottles, dummies, long gone are the plug socket covers, the door stops protecting little fingers, the plastic cutlery! When did this happen? I remember asking my Sister in law years ago when you start removing all the child proof stuff and her response was ‘it’s not that you remove it you just stop replacing it’ She is right - I don’t know when this happened as it’s so gradual. Don’t get me wrong Ikea plates live on! They’re amazing! It’s certainly a reminder to live in the present. Nothing lasts forever and next time I take my monsters to Venice - who knows - they may even have monsters of their own! For now before that idea makes me cry I’m going to hug them a little tighter and stare at them a little longer to capture the moment when in lockdown 2020 I get to see them at age 6 & age 8 24/7 and that is perfectly ok with me 💕💙 #lockdown2020 #ittakesaninstavillage #littlelegsltd #venice #honeymoon #memories #time #family #italy (at Grand Canal Venice, Italy) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_jeC6NlSeY/?igshid=bi6gsr4s11wb
What I miss the most about my classes - the bond I have with my Little Legs. Without fail your Little people make my heart fuller week by week. I can’t wait to see you all again soon #imissyou #littlelegsltd #lockdown2020 (at Little Legs Ltd) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_hwSwQl6be/?igshid=18sl82ev5pl6p
Teddy’s bears picnic! Everyone is living their best life here apart from me! This is actually an activity my family love - it makes my toes curl! Don’t get me wrong I enjoy the eating but OMG why does every plate need to be used? Why does every single teddy have to attend - why can’t someone else host this event? Every teddy, every plate, bowl, spoon, utensil, gahhhhh it’s the equivalent of getting a brand new pack of play doh in pristine colours only to mix them altogether in 10 seconds to make a big brown blob. I usually avoid this for when I’m working and it’s daddy’s day off with the rule that if you do it it’s cleaned up when I get home. Never happens! It amuses them a lot that I really don’t approve of this debacle. I love picnics. I adore picnics in fact but not a teddy bears picnic! I wish they would all clear up their own rubbish and go home! Bah humbug! And yes it was still me who put all the teddy’s back while countering under my breath about never allowing it again...again! Don’t even get me started on playing shops - the pressure to ask for the right things or suffer the pure disapproval that you’re not following the invisible script is far too much to bare for me!! However all is not lost - I love making slime and bring on the glitter, climbing trees, getting muddy! What do you love and loathe about children’s activities? #teddybearspicnic #ittakesaninstavillage #littlelegsltd #shops #roleplaying (at Little Legs Ltd) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_ek8Hgl_i6/?igshid=dw4wxmydekbr
