AHHHH I'm so excited about my book mug that just arrived!!

I took photos of the spines of some of my favorite/most influential books (and a bonus sketchbook, because why not), edited out the background, and used the custom photo mug from shutterfly to print it! I had seen similar mugs for sale, but they had books I hadn't read or didn't like. I really wanted one just for me where I could talk about every mug on the list.

Sapphie Pens a Novel!!!

Sapphie had a quiet but meaningful adventure here in Atlanta as the scorching hot summer melted into a still-effing-hot fall. She was a delightful and loyal companion as we headed out each day to various coffee shops and libraries to work on ~the novel.~ When asked for her opinion on said novel, Sapphie expressed great enthusiasm, probably because the novel is really fucking gay. Because obviously. 

I have to admit that Sapphie spent a good deal of time inside the pocket of my work bag, where she stayed cool and calm as I braved the freezing air conditioning of the coffee shop. Sometimes I ordered herbal tea or coffee for us to share, and she very quickly became quite snobby about her beverage of choice, even going so far as to demand her own personal Pumpkin Spice Latte machine. I also took Sapphie on writing dates to the public library, where I meet each week with my friend Kimberly, another YA writer, in an effort to force ourselves to get more writing done. Kimberly, alas, is not a member of the sapphic sisterhood, but she appreciated Sapphie’s vibrant coloring and charming personality. Sapphie, on the other end, was quite disdainful of Kimberly’s “choice” to follow a “hetero lifestyle,” which Sapphie claims makes no sense whatsoever. 

As a writing consultant, Sapphie was indispensable. She often helped me conjure up a word or turn of phrase that was on the tip of my tongue. (She appears, incidentally, to be rather fond of the word ‘tongue’?) My writing dates were much less lonely with Sapphie by my side. I will miss her companionship as I continue writing sapphic novels for all to enjoy, but I know she’s excited for her upcoming adventure in Utah (and beyond!). 

Sapphie visits the library! 

Sapphie helps my friend and I write, because words are hard - but only for humans, not rainbows. 

Sapphie enjoys some leisure time on my writing desk, which is decorated by a beautiful painting of Hannah & Baker from HNITS (thanks, Sadie!) and a Frank O'Hara quote from which I took my url. 

Listen, this girl is a total Hannah/Baker fangirl.

Why are so many people re-reading She at the moment? What did I miss?

And I honestly am struggling with anything writing-related at the moment and it sucks assssssss.
