5 / 12 / 19 for the writer asks ✨
5. What’s the fic you’re most proud of?
I’d say it’s the series “Listen to me” as a whole. I never finished a series before, and I was 16 the last time I finished writing a fanfic. But more than that, it’s the fact that I managed to have an audience, a wonderful audience, for a topic I wouldn’t think would interest many people.
Writing about autism, being autistic, being in a relationship while autistic, it was a deeply personal exercise, sometimes upsetting, sometimes relieving. Writing autistic Eddie, making him overcome all of those obstacles, and giving him a happy ending with Richie was an amazing adventure.
Also, I won’t lie, I’m extremely proud that I have been able to write in English when I’m actually French xD. It’s not perfect, but I’m getting better at it.
12. Tell us about a WIP you’re excited about.
Well, there’s my current WIP, “Be still(,) my heart”. I’m writing the tenth chapter right now and I’m hoping to publish it in a few hours. Aside from that, I’m also writing a College AU Reddie fanfic for a fanfic gift exchange. I should upload it around Valentine’s day.
But if I have to talk about a WIP (well not exactly a WIP, more of a concept), it’s the Steampunk AU Reddie I currently started to think about. Don’t know if I’ll ever write it, but I love the concept. It’s about this world comprised of hundred of islands, floating in the air, all of them having their own population, their climate, and all. People are traveling between those islands with airships, hot air balloons and hang gliders.
Richie lives on one of those islands, with Ben. Ben is an inventor and an architect, while Richie’s helping his father at the landfill he’s handling (which is one of the reasons he’s called “Trashmouth”).
Richie’s pretty poor, but he’s dreaming of exploring the islands and getting to meet again the prince Edward, who comforted him when he was younger (and gave him a necklace as a present). Ben’s attempting to build an airship with stuff coming from the landfill to allow him to do so, but it’s not much of a success for now.
But when the prince, soon to be High King (aka the big ruler of all the islands) is kidnapped right before his coronation, it’s up to Richie to go saving him from the Bowers Gang. Helped by Ben, he meets the Losers along the way and discovers that there’s more to them all than meets the eye...
Anyway, yeah, don’t know if I’ll write it, but it’s fun to think about it.
19. Do you prefer canon-compliant, AUs, or something in-between?
It depends. When I write, I’d rather write AUs, because I don’t really know how to continue the story left from the movies, and I like to do my own thing. However, I love reading fix-it fics featuring the canon. I also have a lot of fun reading the AUs people come up with.
Thank you for your ask! Now, time to go back to my chapter x).
