Wouldn’t Change A Thang’

I’ve gone through a lot, most of the things I’ve experienced in life some would beg to differ with me. They would say I haven’t quite experienced life but I would tell them if you desire to find out how true these things are just simply ask me. I’m a shy kind of woman and I tend to keep to myself however I’m learning to blossom out and show the side of me that I don’t show many, maybe because I’m not into letting down my guard or showing a softer side. Though these past few months things in my life have taken a turn and for the better, in the mist of a Covid world, I continue to thank God for everything whether it be good or bad. Learning that I can triumph through anything as long as I have God on my side and I continue to “try” regardless of what presents itself in front of me, I know that I will accomplish anything I set my mind and my heart to! Right now I’m still dealing with things, like not having my youngest daughter with me due to unseen events. I’ve heard God and I know soon she will be in my arms again. Through all the rocky waves and downpours in my life I can say I wouldn’t change a thang’...everything is going the way it should in my life...living life with no regrets. Heck, it was meant to happen just this way....

New Year, Bigger Goals

2018 sucked. It did. It started off rocky with me leaving a job due to the company losing a contract, taking a 3rd chance on LinkedIn, and my house having continued problems.

It picked up for a bit. I was doing crossfit for a few months and working for an amazing company (I got the job at LinkedIn) but summer took a nasty turn for the worst. Sam had been emotionally abusive the majority of the relationship but by the end of it I would hear that the reason we hadn't been intimate in months was because of the weight I gained in recovery, lots and lots of names, stating I was worthless, and that I should just relapse so I would be attractive again. Things became physically abusive a few times over the summer, we broke-up, and I basically didnt leave my house or talk to anyone really for a few months. I had an attempt. Shit was rough.

I came back to work in mid-September ready to change life around though. I received Top of the Charts my first quarter back and am on track to get it a second time in a row, I'm a mentor at work, have been redesigning an internal website, and kicking ass.

Outside of work, life has been a huge adjustment. I have been working on mending relationships that were damaged due to my toxic behaviors in the past and also from cutting people out when Sam and I were together.

I am not a huge fan of resolutions but I do like goals. I have made it a goal to climb a 5.9 by end of this year, increase water consumption, walk Casper every other day, save to travel internationally in 2020, and start living for myself. I will slowly add other goals as I take on more.

I know 2018 was rough for a lot of people I care about, but here's to 2019.
