AIDA IN CONCERT DUMP I had the pleasure of working with @studiotenn and getting to perform on a @tennesseepac stage for the first time. This process was a magical whirlwind and I’m so happy I got to be a part of it. Week 1 photo dump of @mentorleaders mission trip. We were welcomed with a performance by the students. We helped build a new wall around the school. Our VBS theme was “Camp Courageous” this year. The team shared bible stories and crafts to learn about Daniel and other courageous Bible figures. I got to co-lead dances with the kids which is always a blast!!! The students went to a museum and McDonald’s for the first time. It was so special to see their eyes light up and enjoy this experience. We also had a picnic with games, swimming, crafts and bouncy houses. This trip was so special!! New friendships were formed and older friendships were deepened. My relationship with God and my faith were deepened as well. This trip has truly been amazing. Lots of healing and restoration for me personally (which I will share later). The people here are so loving and welcoming. If you’re interested in traveling and serving let me know. As most of you know I’ve been traveling on mission trips over the last year with @mentorleaders. I’m currently still raising funds for my mission trip to El Salvador next month. AND SO THEY DID…. Last week I returned from Gbenthal, Togo, West Africa with my heart full and stories to share!! Traveling with @mentorleaders is an amazing experience. After serving in El Salvador in March, several people encouraged me to go to Africa and experience it for myself. I wouldn’t have wanted to travel with another team of people! Some I met in El Salvador and we got to deepen our relationships. Some people I just met and feel like I’ve known them forever. First of all God is so good and his faithfulness was shown the entire trip. Most don’t know but exactly 11 days before I was supposed to leave for my trip I contracted Covid! The amount of stress and fear that it put my under is indescribable. I literally left the day after I got out of quarantine!! Trying to plan for a 2 week trip while quarantined seemed impossible. It seemed impossible that I would even make it to Togo at all! With the variants and rules changing it all seemed impossible! With the help of so many people I was able to fly out and made it to Togo, West Africa! Upon arrival we had some issues with getting to the village but we made it in time to see the church and villagers welcoming us and that changed everything! Seeing the faces of these people just gives a feeling I can’t explain! While we were there we had several bible camps running. One for the boys, one for the girls, and one for the younger children! In the afternoon we had break out sessions that included sports, crafts, choir, and dance! Getting to teach the kids dance was an amazing moment. Watching them get more comfortable day by day and even start to sing the words was emotional. Watching them use dance as a worship tool brought tears to my eyes! I can’t wait to go back and teach more! The highlight of this trip was getting to see the very 1st graduating class of the Mentor Leader’s Will Smith Academy! These children have defied the odds (especially the girls) and broken cultural norms to get to where they are now! Getting to witness the dream of my friend @david.whetstone was incredible and to see where God going to take him and @mentorleaders blows my mind! I’m so proud of you!
