If there is a God… How could he allow cancer to claim my father’s bladder? To build a softball size home there? Swiftly proceeding to spread decay throughout his once healthy body? The strongest man I knew quickly became the most fragile. How could he give him such a short life line? Less than three months between diagnosis and death. Sixty-six years isn’t enough time to live just like a couple months isn’t enough time to properly say good bye. But if there is a God… I saw him in my families’ eyes; I witnessed him in my mother’s strength. I felt him as we wiped our tears away recounting countless memories. Temporarily replacing our sadness with smiles. I saw him in all those familiar faces who packed the church the day of his memorial. All the lives my father had touched. The love overflowed this room, and effectively combated the sorrow in our chests.
If there is a God/ I saw him
